Narrated/Authority of Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan
that he asked Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet (saw): "What did you used to do with the Messenger of Allah (saw) when you were menstruating?" She said: "If it was at the beginning of the period when the bleeding is heavy, we would tie the waist-wrapper tightly around our thighs, then lie down with the Messenger of Allah (saw)." (Sahih)

that Umm Habibah asked the Messenger of Allah (saw) about bleeding. 'Aishah said: "I saw her wash tub filled with blood." The Messenger of Allah (saw) said to her: "Stop (praying) for as long as your period used to last, then perform Ghusl." (Sahih)

Malik related to me from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman from another of the ulama of that time that Abu Musa al-Ashari came and asked permission from Umar ibn al-Khattab to enter. He asked permission three times, and then went away Umar ibn al-Khattab sent after him and said, "What's wrong with you? Why didn't you come in?" Abu Musa said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Ask permission to enter three times. If you are given permission, then enter. If not, go away.' ''Umar said, "Who can confirm this? If you do not bring me someone to confirm it, I will do such-and-such to you." Abu Musa went out until he came to an assembly in the mosque which was called the Majlis-al-Ansar. He said, "I told Umar ibn al-Khattab that I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Ask permission three times. If you are given permission, then enter. If not, go away.' Umar said, 'If you do not bring me someone who can confirm it, I will do such-and-such to you'. If any of you have heard that, let him come with me.' " They said to Abu Said al-Khudri, "Go with him". Abu Said was the youngest of them. He went with him and told Umar ibn al-Khattab about that." Umar ibn al-Khattab said to Abu Musa, "I did not suspect you, but I feared lest people forge sayings of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."

I asked Allah's Apostle about a man who engages in sexual intercourse with his wife but does not discharge. He replied, "He should wash the parts which comes in contact with the private parts of the woman, perform ablution and then pray." (Abu 'Abdullah said, "Taking a bath is safer and is the last order.")

from his father, that man asked Umar bin Al-Khattab about Tayammum and he did not know what to say. 'Ammar said: "Do you remember when we were on a campaign, and I became Junub and rolled in the dust, then I came to the Prophet (saw) and he said: 'This would have been sufficient.'" (One of the narrators) Shu'bah struck his hands on his knees and blew into his hands, then he wiped his face and palms with them once. (Sahih)

from Abdullah bin Rafi, the freed slave of Umm Salamah, that he said: "I asked Hajjaj bin Amr about a Muhrim being prevented (from completing Hajj). He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "Whoever breaks a bone, falls sick or becomes lame, has exited Ihram, and he has to perform Hajj the following year."

(the wife of the Prophet) Um Habiba got bleeding in between the periods for seven years. She asked Allah's Apostle about it. He ordered her to take a bath (after the termination of actual periods) and added that it was (from) a blood vessel. So she used to take a bath for every prayer.
