From: Sunan Abu Dawood. Chapter 2, Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Rafi
Said ibn Abu Said al-Maqburi reported on the authority of his father that he saw Abu Rafi the freed slave of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him), passing by Hasan ibn Ali (Allah be pleased with them) when he was standing offering his prayer. He had tied the back knot of his hair. Abu Rafi untied it. Hasan turned to him with anger, Abu Rafi said to him: Concentrate on your prayer and do not be angry: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: This is the seat of the devil, referring to the back knot of the hair.

the freed slave of 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet (saw), "Aishah told me to copy a Mushaf for her, and she said: 'When you reach this verse, call my attention: Guard strictly the Salawat especially the middle (Al-Wusta) Salah. [2:238] When I reached it, I called her attention and she dictated to me: 'Guard strictly the Salawat especially the middle (Al-Wusta) Salah and the 'Asr prayer, and stand before Allah with obedience.' Then she said: 'I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (saw).'" (Sahih)

Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
From: Sahih Bukhari. Chapter 54, Jihaad (Fighting for the cause of Allah)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (SAW) said, " Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham, of Qatifa and Khamisa perish as he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased. Let such a person perish and relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, let him not find anyone to take it out for him. Tuba (all kinds of happiness or a tree in Paradise) is for him who holds the reins of his horse to strive in Allah's Cause, with his hair unkempt and feet covered with dust: if he is appointed in the vanguard, he is perfectly satisfied with his post of guarding, and if he is appointed in the rear guard, he accepts his post with satisfaction; (he is so simple and unambituous that) if he asks for permission he is not permitted, and if he intercedes, his intercession is not accepted."

Yahya related to me from Malik that Muhammad ibn Uqba, the mawla of az Zubayr, asked al-Qasim ibn Muhammad whether he had to pay any zakat on a large sum given to him by his slave to buy his freedom. Al-Qasim said, "Abu Bakr as-Siddiq did not take zakat from anyone's property until it had been in his possession for a year."
Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad continued, "When Abu Bakr gave men their allowances he would ask them, 'Do you have any property on which zakat is due?' If they said, 'Yes,' he would take the zakat on that property out of their allowances. If they said, 'No,' he would hand over their allowances to them without deducting anything from them."

that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "Whoever is in Makkah when the month of Ramadan comes, and he fasts it and prays at night as much as he can, Allah will record for him (reward equivalent to that for) one hundred thousand months of Ramadan observed elsewhere. For each day Allah will record for him (reward equivalent to that for) freeing a slave, and for each day (reward equivalent to that for) providing a horse in the cause of Allah, and for every day merits and for every night merits."

"I heard Abu Mundhir, the freed slave of Abu Dharr, say that Abu Umayyah narrated to him, that a thief was brought to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and he admitted his crime, although the stolen goods were not found with him. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'I do not think you stole them.' He said: 'Yes I did.' Then he said (again): 'I do not think that you stole them.' and he said: 'Yes I did.' Then he ordered that his hand be cut off. The Prophet (saw) said: 'Say: I seek Allah's forgiveness and I repent to Him.' So he (the thief) said: 'I seek Allah's forgiveness and I repent to him.' He (the Prophet (saw) said twice: 'O Allah! Accept his repentance." Daif

Sad bin Abi Waqqas and Abd bin Zama quarreled over a boy. Sad said, "O Allah's Apostle! This boy is the son of my brother (Utba bin Abi Waqqas) who took a promise from me that I would take him as he was his (illegal) son. Look at him and see whom he resembles." 'Abd bin Zama said, "O Allah's Apostle! This is my brother and was born on my father's bed from his slave-girl." Allah's Apostle cast a look at the boy and found definite resemblance to Utba and then said, "The boy is for you, O Abd bin Zama. The child goes to the owner of the bed and the adulterer gets nothing but the stones (despair, i.e. to be stoned to death). Then the Prophet said, "O Sauda bint Zama! Screen yourself from this boy." So, Sauda never saw him again.

From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of Uqba bin Amir
I heard Allah's Messenger (PBUH) saying: One of my followers gets up at night pushing himself to perform ablution (for prayer). On him there are several knots of the Satan. When he washes his hands, a knot loosens. When he washes his face, another knot loosens. When he passes his wet hands over his head, yet another knot loosens. When he washes his legs, the last knot loosens. Then Allah (SWT) says to those beyond the eyes (angels): Look at this slave of Mine who cures/his inner-self and asks Me forgiveness. So, what he asks is given to him.
(This Hadith is sound and reported by Ibn Hibban and Ahmad in his Musnad).

From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 1, The Book of the Sunnah
Narrated/Authority of Yahya bin Abu Muta
"I heard Irbad bin Sariyah say: 'One day, the Messenger of Allah (saw) stood up among us and delivered a deeply moving speech to us that melted our hearts and caused our eyes to overflow with tears. It was said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, you have delivered a speech of farewell, so enjoin something upon us.' He said: 'I urge you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey, even if (your leader) is an Abyssinian slave. After I am gone, you will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the path of the Rightly-Guided (Khulafah) Caliphs, and cling stubbornly to it. And beware or newly-invented matters, for every innovation is a going astray.'" that he heard Al-Irbad bin Sariyah say: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) delivered a moving speech to us which made our eyes overflow with tears and made our hearts melt. We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is a speech of farewell. What do you enjoin upon us?' He said: 'I am leaving you upon a (path of) brightness whose night is like its day. No one will deviate from it after I am gone but one who is doomed. Whoever among you lives will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to what you know of my Sunnah and the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and cling stubbornly to it. And you must obey, even if (your leader is) an Abyssinian slave. For the true believer is like a camel with a ring in its nose; wherever it is driven, it complies." (Sahih)
