"I noticed that the Messenger of Allah (saw) was missing from his bed one night, so I went looking for him, and my hand touched the soles of his feet; he was in the Masjid with his feet upright (prostrating), and he was saying: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu biridaka min sakhatika wa bimu'afatika 'an 'uqubatika, wa a'udhu bika minka, la uhsi thana'an 'alayka, Anta kama athnayta 'ala nafsika (O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough; You are as You have praised Yourself).'"

that a man from Banu Kinanah who was called Al-Mukhdaji heard a man in Ash-Sham, who was known as Abu Muhammad (SAW), saying that Witr was obligatory. Al-Mukhdaji said: "In the morning I went to 'Ubadah bin As-Samit, and I met him while he was on his way to the Masjid. I told him what Abu Muhammad (SAW) said, and 'Ubadah said: 'Abu Muhammad (SAW) is wrong. I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say: 'Five prayers are those that Allah has decreed for (His) slaves, whoever does them, and does not neglect any of them out of disregard toward them, will have a promise from Allah that He will admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not do them will have no such promise from Allah; if He wills he will punish him and if He wills He will admit him to Paradise.'" (Hasan)

"Whoever would like to meet Allah tomorrow (i.e. on the Day of Judgement) as a Muslim, let him preserve these five (daily) prayer when the call for them is given, for they are part of the ways of guidance, and Allah prescribed the ways of guidance to your Prophet (saw). By Allah, if each of you prays in his house, you will have abandoned the Sunnah of your Prophet (saw), and if you abandon the Sunnah of your Prophet (saw) you will go astray. I remember when no one stayed behind from the prayer except a hypocrite who was known for his hypocrisy. I have seen a man coming supported by two others, until he joined the row (of worshippers). There is no man who purifies himself and does it well, and comes to the masjid (mosque) and prays there, but for every step he takes, Allah raises him in status one degree thereby, and takes away one of his sins." that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "When the believing slave performs Wudu and rinses his mouth, his sins come out from his mouth. When he sniffs water into his nose and blows it out, his sins come out from his nose. When he washes his face, his sins come out from his face, even from beneath his eyelashes. When he washes his hands, his sins come out from his hands, even from beneath his fingernails. When he wipes his head, his sins come out from his head, even from his ears. When he washes his feet, his sins come out from his feet, even from beneath his toenails. Then his walking to the Masjid and his Salah will earn extra merit for him." (Hasan)

Ibn Umar used to spend the night at Dhi-Tuwa in between the two Thaniyas and then he would enter Mecca through the Thaniya which is at the higher region of Mecca, and whenever he came to Mecca for Hajj or Umra, he never made his she camel kneel down except near the gate of the Masjid (Sacred Mosque) and then he would enter (it) and go to the Black (stone) Corner and start from there circumambulating the Kaaba seven times: hastening in the first three rounds (Ramal) and walking in the last four. On finishing, he would offer two Rakat prayer and set out to perform Tawaf between Safa and Marwa before returning to his dwelling place. On returning (to Medina) from Hajj or Umra, he used to make his camel kneel down at Al-Batha which is at Dhu-l-Hulaifa, the place where the Prophet used to make his camel kneel down.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard the people of knowledge say, "Women do not have to raise their voices when they are doing talbiya, and a woman should only speak loudly enough to hear herself."
Malik said, "Some one who is in ihram should not raise his voice when doing talbiya if he is in a mosque where there are groups of people. He should only speak loudly enough for himself and those who are near him to be able to hear, except in the Masjid alHaram and the mosque at Mina, where he should raise his voice."
Malik said, "I have heard some of the people of knowledge recommending (people to do) talbiya at the end of every prayer and at every rise on the route."

From: Sunan An-Nasai. Chapter 10, The Book of Leading the Prayer (Al-Imamah)
Narrated/Authority of Abdullah
"Whoever would like to meet Allah tomorrow as a Muslim, let him regularly attend these five (daily) prayers whenever the call for them is given (that in the masjid (mosque)s), for Allah prescribed for His Prophet (saw) the ways of guidance, and they (the prayers) are part of those ways of guidance. I do not think that there is anyone among you who does not have a place where he prays in his house. But if you were to pray in your houses and forsake the Masjids, you would be forsaking the Sunnah of your Prophet, and if you were to forsake the Sunnah of your Prophet you would go astray. There is no Muslim slave who performs Wudu and does it well, then walks to the prayer, but Allah will record one Hasanah (good deed) for each step he takes, or raise him one level by it or erase one sin from him. I remember how we used to take short steps, and I remember (a time) when no one stayed behind from the prayer except a hypocrite who hypocrisy was well known. And I have seen a man coming supported by two others until he would be made to stand in the row." (Sahih)

(In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive my sins and open to me the gates of Your mercy).' When he left he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu ala Rasulullah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubu waftah li abwaba fadlika. (In the Name of Allah, peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive my sins and open to me the gates of Your bounty).'" (Daif)

"When the Messenger of Allah (saw) became seriously ill, Bilal came to tell him it was time to pray and he said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.'" She said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man, and when he stands in your place he will not be able to make the people hear his voice; why don't you tell Umar (to do it)?' He said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' I said to Hafsah: 'Tell him.' So she told him. He said: 'You are (like) the female companions of Yusuf. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.'" She said: "So they told Abu Bakr. When he started to pray, the Messenger of Allah (saw) began to feel better, so he got up and came with the help of two men, with his feet dragging along the ground. (When) he entered the Masjid, Abu Bakr heard him coming and he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (saw) gestured to him: 'Stay where you are.' Then the Messenger of Allah (saw) came and sat on Abu Bakr's left, so the Messenger of Allah (saw) was leading the people in prayer sitting, and Abu Bakr was standing and following the Messenger of Allah (saw), and the people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him." Narrated/Authority of
Mahmud bin Rabi Al-Ansari, who remembered that the Messenger of Allah (saw) spat a mouthful of water from a bucket into a well that belonged to them, narrated that Itban bin Malik As-Salimi, who was the chief of his people Banu Salim and had participated in (the battle of) Badr with the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my sight is failing and the flood comes and prevents me from reaching the masjid (mosque) of my people, and it is too hard for me to cross the water. Do you think you could come and perform prayer in my house in a place which I can then take as a place for prayer?' He said: 'I will do that.' The following day, the Messenger of Allah (saw) and Abu Bakr came, when the heat of the day had grown intense. He asked permission to enter, and I gave him permission. He did not sit down until he said: 'Where would you like me to perform prayer for you in your house?' I showed him the place where I wanted him to pray, so the Messenger of Allah (saw) stood and we lined up behind him, and he led us in praying two Rakah (units). Then I asked him to stay and eat some Khazirah* that had been prepared for them.'" (Sahih)
