Hadith No: 551
From: Sahih Bukhari. Chapter 24, Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat)
Narrated/Authority of Urwa bin Az-Zubair and Said bin Al-Musayyab
Haklm bin Hizam said, "(Once) I asked Allah's Apostle (for something) and he gave it to me. Again I asked and he gave (it to me). Again I asked and he gave (it to me). And then he said, "O Hakim! This property is like a sweet fresh fruit; whoever takes it without greediness, he is blessed in it, and whoever takes it with greediness, he is not blessed in it, and he is like a person who eats but is never satisfied; and the upper (giving) hand is better than the lower (receiving) hand." Hakim added, "I said to Allah's Apostle , 'By Him (Allah) Who sent you with the Truth, I shall never accept anything from anybody after you, till I leave this world.' " Then Abu Bakr (during his caliphate) called Hakim to give him his share from the war booty (like the other companions of the Prophet ), he refused to accept anything. Then 'Umar (during his caliphate) called him to give him his share but he refused. On that 'Umar said, "O Muslims! I would like you to witness that I offered Hakim his share from this booty and he refused to take it." So Hakim never took anything from anybody after the Prophet till he died.

I asked Ibn Abbas about Hajj-at-Tamattu. He ordered me to perform it. I asked him about the Hadi (sacrifice). He said, "You have to slaughter a camel, a cow or a sheep, or you may share the Hadi with the others." It seemed that some people disliked it (Hajj-at-Tamattu). I slept and dreamt as if a person was announcing: "Hajj Mabrur and accepted Mutah (Hajj-At-Tamattu')" I went to Ibn Abbas and narrated it to him. He said, "Allah is Greater. (That was) the tradition of Abu Al-Qasim (i.e. Prophet). Narrated Shuba that the call in the dream was. "An accepted Umra and Hajj-Mabrur."

"There are two things which I never asked anyone about after I saw the Messenger of Allah (saw). He was with us on a journey and he went away to relieve himself, then he came and performed Wudu, and he wiped over his forehead and two sides of his Imamah, and he wiped over his Khuffs." He said: "And (the other issue) the Imam's Salah behind one of his followers. I saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) when he was on a journey and time for prayer came. The Prophet (saw) could not join them, so they called Iqamah and they asked Ibn 'Awf to lead them in prayer. Then the Messenger of Allah (saw) came and offered the remainder of the prayer behind Ibn Awf, then when Ibn 'Awf said the Salah, the Prophet (saw) stood up and completed what he had missed (of the prayer)." (Sahih)

I asked Ibn Umar about Salam of (the fruits of) date-palms. He replied, "The Prophet forbade the sale of dates till their benefit becomes evident and fit for eating and also the sale of silver (for gold) on credit." I asked Ibn Abbas about Salam for dates and he replied, "The Prophet forbade the sale of dates till they were fit for eating and could be estimated."

"I asked Aishah: 'O mother! Tell me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (saw).' She said: 'He felt pain and started to spit (over his body), and we began to compare his spittle to the spittle of a person eating raisins. Like a person eating raisins and spitting out the seeds. He used to go around among his wives, but when he became ill, he asked them permission to stay in the house of Aishah and that they should come to him in turns.' She said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) entered upon me, (supported) between two men, with his feet making lines along the ground. One of them was 'Abbas.' I told Ibn 'Abbas this Hadith and he said: 'Do you know who the other man was whom Aishah did not name? He was Ali bin Abu Talib.'" Sahih

Yahya said that Malik spoke about a man who loaned another man money and then the debtor asked him to leave it with him as a qirad. Malik said, "I do not like that unless he takes his money back from him, and then pays it to him as a qirad if he wishes or if he wishes keep it." Malik spoke about an investor who paid a man qirad money and the man told him that it was collected with him and asked him to write it for him as a loan. He said, "I do not like that unless he takes his money from him and then lends it to him or keeps it as he wishes. That is only out of fear that he has lost some of it, and wants to defer it so that he can make up what has been lost of it. That is disapproved of and is not permitted and it is not good."

Once Allah's Apostle prayed two Rakat (instead of four) and finished his prayer. Dhu-l-yadain asked him whether the prayer had been reduced or whether he had forgotten. Allah's Apostle asked the people whether Dhu-l-yadain was telling the truth. The people replied in the affirmative. Then Allah's Apostle stood up, offered the remaining two Rakat and then finished his prayer with Taslim and then said, "Allahu Akbar." He followed it with two prostrations like ordinary prostrations or a bit longer.

"Sayyar bin Salamah, narrated to us, he said: 'I heard my father ask Abu Barzah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (saw).' I said: 'Did you really hear him?' He said: 'I heard my father ask about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (saw).' He said: 'He would not mind if he delayed it - meaning Isha until midnight, and he did not like to sleep before it or speak after it.'" Shubah said: "Then I met him later on and asked him. He said: 'He used to pray Zuhr when the sun had passed its zenith, and (he would pray) Asr and a man could walk to the farthest point in Al-Madinah and the sun would still be clear and hot. And Maghrib, I do not know the time he mentioned.' After that I met him and asked him, and he said: 'He used to pray Fajr then after the prayer a man could regarding it, sitting next to him, look at the face of someone he knew and he could recognize it.' He said: And he used to recite in it between sixty and one hundred (verses).'" (Sahih)

Yahya said from Malik that he heard from Sulayman ibn Yasar and others that when they were asked whether the testimony of a man flogged for a hadd crime was permitted, they said, "Yes, when repentance (tawba) appears from him." Malik related to me that he heard Ibn Shihab being asked about that and he said the like of what Sulayman ibn Yasar said. Malik said, "That is what is done in our community. It is by the word of Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, 'And those who accuse women who are muhsan, and then do not bring four witnesses, flog them with eighty lashes, and do not accept any testimony of theirs ever. They indeed are evil-doers, save those who turn in tawba after that and make amends. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.' " (Sura 24 ayat 4).
