The Prophet said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree. The others then asked, "Please inform us what is that tree, O Allah's Apostle?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree."

Allah's Apostle stood beside me at Al-Hudaibiya and the lice were falling from my head in great number. He asked me, "Have your lice troubled you?" I replied in the affirmative. He ordered me to get my head shaved. Kab added, "This Holy Verse: And if any of you is ill, or has ailment in his scalp (2.196), etc. was revealed regarding me. "The Prophet then ordered me either to fast three days, or to feed six poor persons with one Faraq (three Sas) (of dates), or to slaughter a sheep, etc (sacrifice) whatever was available.

Anas said, "I do not find (now-a-days) things as they were (practiced) at the time of the Prophet." Somebody said "The prayer (is as it was.)" Anas said, "Have you not done in the prayer what you have done? Narrated Az-Zuhri that he visited Anas bin Malik at Damascus and found him weeping and asked him why he was weeping. He replied, "I do not know anything which I used to know during the life-time of Allah's Apostle except this prayer which is being lost (not offered as it should be)."

that Walid ibn Hisham al-Mu'ayti reported to him that Ma'dan ibn Talhah al-Ya'muri narrated to him that he met Sayyidina Thawban (RA) (the freedman of Allah's Messenger (SAW)) He asked him, "Guide me to a deed that should benefit me in the sight of Allah and he may admit me to Paradise." He thought over a moment, then turning to him said. "You should make (plenty of) prostrations for. I have heard Allah's Messenger (SAW) say, "No slave of Allah prostrates before Allah but he raises him a degree and erases from him a sin."

Yahya related to me from Malik that he heard Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman say, "I heard that the wife of Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf asked him to divorce her. He said, 'When you have menstruated and are pure, then come to me.' She did not menstruate until Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf was ill. When she was purified, she told him and he divorced her irrevocably or made a pronouncement of divorce which was all that he had left over her Abd arRahman ibn Awf was terminally ill at the time, so Uthman ibn Affan made her one of the heirs after the end of her idda."

Nafi said, "Ibn Umar never refused to be appointed as a guardian." The most beloved thing to Ibn Sirin concerning an orphan's wealth was that the orphan's advisors and guardians would assemble to decide what is best for him. When Tawus was asked about the something concerning an orphan's affairs, he would recite: '...And Allah knows him who means mischief from him who means good...' (2.220) Ata said concerning some orphans, "The guardian is to provide for the young and the old orphans according to their needs from their shares."

He said, "I was wondering why there was difficulty in reciting the Quran." The narrator added: The people thenceforth refrained from reciting the Quran with Allah's Messenger when he made ajahry (audible) recital. [Ahmed 7274, Abu Dawud 827, Nisai 918,Ibn e Majah 848]
