Narrated/Authority of Muhammad bin Salamah
"I proposed marriage to a woman, then I hid and waited to see her until I saw her among some date palm trees that belonged to her." It was said to him: "Do you do such a thing when you are a companion of the Messenger of Allah (saw)?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) saying: 'When Allah causes a man to propose to a woman, there is nothing wrong with him looking at her.' "

"Abu Musa Al-Ashari used to issue rulings concerning Tamattu'. Then a man said to him: 'Withhold some of your rulings, for you do not know what the Commander of the Believers has introduced into the rites after you.' (Abu Musa said:) 'Then when I met him later on, I asked him.' Umar said: 'I know that the Messenger of Allah (saw) and his Companions did it, but I did not like that people should lie with their wives in the shade of the Arak trees and then go out for Hajj with their heads dripping,' (i.e. due to the bath after sexual relations)."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Kab ibn Malik al-Ansari told him that his father, Kab ibn Malik, used to relate that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The ruh of the mumin is a bird that sits in the trees of the Garden until Allah returns it to his body on the day He raises him."

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) one day made me mount behind him and he confided to me something secret which I would not disclose to anybody; and the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) liked the concealment provided by a lofty place or cluster of dates (while answering the call of nature), Ibn Asma' said in his narration: It implied an enclosure of the date-trees.

He said: 'May Allah forgive you, O Umm Bishr! We are too busy to think of that.' She said: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (saw) say: "The souls of the believers are in green birds, eating from the trees of Paradise"?' He said: 'Yes.' She said: 'That is what I mean.'" Sahih

"A man from among the Ansar came and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (saw), why do I see that your color has changed?' He said: 'Hunger.' So the Ansari went to his dwelling, but he did not find anything in his dwelling, so he went out looking, and he found a Jew watering his date-palm trees. The Ansari stipulated that he would not take any dates that were black (rotten), hard and dried out or inferior, and he would only take good quality dates. He earned nearly two Sas (of dates), and he brought it to the Prophet (saw)." Daif

Narrated/Authority of Abu Said Al-Khudri
Yahya related to me from Malik from Daud ibn al-Husayn from Abu Sufyan, the mawla of Ibn Abi Ahmad, from Abu Said al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade muzabana and muhaqala. Muzabana was selling fresh dates for dried dates while they were still on the trees. Muhaqala was renting land in exchange for wheat.

"I heard the Prophet (saw) delivering a sermon in the Year of the Conquest (of Makkah), and he said: 'O people, Allah made Makkah sacred the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it is sacred until the Day of Resurrection. Its trees are not to be cut, its game is not to be disturbed, and its lost property is not to be taken except by one who will announce it.'Abbas said: 'Except for Idhkhir (a kind of fragrant grass), for it is (used) for houses and graves.' The messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Except for Idhkhir.'"
