who was an ally of Banu Amir bin Lu'ai and was present at (the battle of) Badr with the Messenger of Allah (saw), that the Messenger of Allah (saw) sent Ubaidah bin Jarrah to Bahrain to collect the Jizyah, and the Prophet (saw) had made a treaty with the people of Bahrain, and he appointed as their governor 'Ala' bin Hadrami. Abu Ubaidan came with the wealth from Bahrain and the Ansar heard that Abu Ubaidah had come, so they attended the Fajr prayer with the Messenger of Allah (saw). When the Messenger of Allah (saw) had prayed, he went away, so they intercepted him. From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 39, The Chapters on Tribulations
Narrated/Authority of Ubayy bin Kab
that on the night when he (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), the Messenger of Allah (saw) noticed a good fragrance and said: that on the night when he (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), the Messenger of Allah (saw) noticed a good fragrance and said:"O Jibril, what is this good fragrance?" He said: "This is the fragrance of the grave of the hairdresser and her two sons and her husband." He said: "That began when Khadir, who was one of the nobles of the Children of Israel, used to pass by a monk in his cell. The monk used to meet him and he taught him Islam. When Khadir reached adolescence, his father married him to a woman. He taught her and made her promise not to teach it to anyone. He used not to touch women, so he divorced her, then his father married him to another woman, and he taught her and made her promise not to teach it to anyone. One of them kept the secret but the other disclosed it, so he fled until he came to an island in the sea. Two men came, gathering firewood, and saw him. One of them kept the secret but the other disclosed it and said: 'I have seen Khadir.' It was said: 'Who else saw him besides you?' He said: 'So-and-so.' (The other man) was questioned but he kept silent. According to their religion, the liar was to be killed. The woman who had kept the secret got married, and while she was combing the hair of Pharoah's daughter, she dropped the comb and said: 'May Pharoah perish!' (The daughter) told her father about that. The woman had two sons and a husband. (Pharoah) sent for them, and tried to make the woman and her husband give up their religion, but they refused. He said: 'I am going to kill you.' They said: 'It would be an act of kindness on your part, if you kill us, to put us in one grave.' So he did that." When the Prophet (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), he noticed a good fragrance and asked Jibril about it and he told him."

Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: Allah has some angels who roam about the
streets in search of people mentioning Allah's Names.
When they find such a gathering, they call one another
saying: Come to the object of your pursuit. The Prophet (SAW) added: The angels surround them with their wings up to the lowest heaven (sky of the world). He
further added: (When the people in the gathering disperse, the angels ascend to the heaven). Their Lord, who knows best about the people, asks them: What do my slaves say? The angels reply: They were glorifying You (by repeating
the words "Allah is the All-Glorified", exalting You (by repeating the words "Allah is All-Great", praising You (by repeating the words "All praise be to
Allah"), and dignifying You. He asks them: Have they seen Me? The angels reply: No, by Allah. 0 Lord! They haven't seen You (at all). He asks: How would it be
if they saw Me? The angels reply: If they saw You, they would worship You more devotedly, dignify You more fervently and exalt You more sincerely. Then Allah asks them: What do they ask Me? The angels reply: They ask You Paradise. He asks them: Have they seen it? The angels reply: No, by Allah, they have not seen it. He asks: How would it be, if they saw it? The angels reply: If they
saw it, they would crave for it eagerly, seek after it vigorously and desire it ardently. He asks: From what do they seek My protection? The angels reply: (They seek your protection) from Hell. He asks: Have they seen it? The angels reply: No, by Allah, 0 Lord! They haven't see it (at all). He asks: How would it be, if they saw it. The angels reply: If they saw it, they would fear it extremely and flee from it hastily. Then Allah says (to the angels): I
make you witness that I have forgiven them. Allah's Messenger (PBUH) added: One of the angels would say: 0 Lord! among them was so-and-so (a much sinning slave) who was not actually included in the gathering but he happened to came there for some need (and sat down with them). Allah would remark: Anyhow, they were all
sitting together, so their companion will not be reduced to misery (i.e. they were sitting together and glorifying Allah, so he who sits with them will not suffer but get forgiveness as a reward for his association with the people
remembering Allah).

Yahya related to me that Malik said, "What is done in our community in the case of a man who makes his slave-girl a mudabbara and she gives birth to children after that, and then the slave-girl dies before the one who gave her a tadbir is that her children are in her position. The conditions which were confirmed for her are confirmed for them. The death of their mother does not harm them. If the one who made her mudabbara dies, they are free if their value is less than one third of his total property."
Malik said, "For every mother by birth as opposed to mother by suckling, her children are in her position. If she is free and she gives birth after she is free, her children are free. If she is a mudabbara or mukataba, or freed after a number of years in service, or part of her is free or pledged or she is an umm walad, each of her children are in the same position as their mother. They are set free when she is set free and they are slaves when she is a slave."
Malik said about the mudabbara given a tadbir while she was pregnant, "Her children are in her position. That is also the position of a man who frees his slave-girl while she is pregnant and does not know that she is pregnant."
Malik said, "The sunna about such women is that their children follow them and are set free by their being set free."
Malik said, "It is the same as if a man had bought a slave-girl while she was pregnant. The slave-girl and what is in her womb belong to the one who bought her whether or not the buyer stipulates that."
Malik continued, "It is not halal for the seller to make an exception about what is in her womb because that is an uncertain transaction. It reduces her price and he does not know if that will reach him or not. That is as if one sold the foetus in the womb of the mother. That is not halal because it is an uncertain transaction."
Malik said about the mukatab or mudabbar who bought a slave-girl and had intercourse with her and she became pregnant by him and gives birth, "The children of both of them by a slave-girl are in his position. They are set free when he is set free and they are slaves when he is a slave."
Malik said, "When he is set free, the umm walad is part of his property which is surrendered to him when he is set free."

From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of A Iyad bin Himar Al-Mujashii
From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of A Iyad bin Himar Al-Mujashii
that one day Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in his speech: Behold! Indeed Allah has commanded me to inform you of what you are unfamiliar with; and what He has taught me today: Every wealth, I have conferred upon a slave is lawful. Indeed I have created My slaves being true in Faith; but the satans approached them and turned them away from their religion and what had been permissible declared as forbidden for them. Further the satans ordered them to make partners with me for which I have revealed no evidence. Verily, Allah looked at the people on earth andhated both Arabs and non-Arabs - except a few people ofthe Scripture. Allah added: I have sent you as a Prophet (SAW) tothe people so that I may test you and test the believersthrough you and revealed to you a book that water cannoterase. So you should read it while asleep and awake. The Prophet (SAW) said: Indeed Allah has ordered me toburn (the disbelievers of) Quraish (the Prophet (SAW)'s tribe ofMakkah). So I said: O Lord! They would crush my headlike bread. Allah said: Drive them out as they drove youout of your city. Fight them, We shall support you. Spend(money in the cause of Allah), We will spend on you. Sendan army, We will send five like that. Fight with yourfollowers against those who deny you. He said: Theinhabitants of Paradise are three kinds of people: First is apowerful, just, almsgiver, and a successful man. second isa kind, tender-hearted man towards every relative andMuslim. Third is a decent father to many children. He alsosaid: Dwellers of Hell are of five types: First is a weak followerman who has no sense to avoid the evil or workfor family or wealth. Second is a dishonest man whosegreed is well-known to people, even for minor things.Third is a man who will betray you about your family andwealth at both the ends of the day. He also mentioned amiser or a liar and a person who uses bad words.(This Hadith is sound and reported by Muslim).

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz during his khalifate, wrote to one of his governors, "Whatever a father, or guardian, who gives someone in marriage, makes a condition in the way of unreturnable gift or of favour, belongs to the woman if she wants it."
Malik spoke about a woman whose father gave her in marriage and made an unreturnable gift a condition of the bride-price which was to be given. He said, "Whatever is given as a condition by which marriage occurs belongs to the woman if she wants it. If the husband parts from her before the marriage is consummated, the husband has half of the unreturnable gift by which the marriage occurred."
Malik said about a man who married off his young son and the son had no wealth at all, that the bride-price was obliged of the father if the young man had no property on the day of marriage. If the young man did have property the bride-price was taken from his property unless the father stipulated that he would pay the bride-price. The marriage was affirmed for the son if he was a minor only if he was under the guardianship of his father.
Malik said that if a man divorced his wife before he had consummated the marriage and she was a virgin, her father returned half of the bride-price to him. That half was permitted to the husband from the father to compensate him for his expenses.
Malik said that that was because Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, said in His Book, "Unless they (women with whom he had not consummated marriage) make remission or he makes remission to him in whose hand is the knot of marriage." (Sura 2 ayat 237). (He being the father of a virgin daughter or the master of a female slave.)
Malik said, "That is what I have heard about the matter, and that is how things are done among us."
Malik said that a jewish or christian woman who was married to a jew or christian and then became muslim before the marriage had been consummated, did not keep anything from the bride-price.
Malik said, "I do not think that women should be married for less than a quarter of a dinar. That is the lowest amount for which cutting off the hand is obliged ."

From: Sahih Muslim. Chapter 1, Faith (Kitab Al Iman)
Narrated/Authority of Anas bin Malik
From: Sahih Muslim. Chapter 1, Faith (Kitab Al Iman)
Narrated/Authority of Anas bin Malik
that he said:
We were forbidden that we should ask anything (without the
genuine need) from the Holy Prophet. It, therefore, pleased us
that an intelligent person from the dwellers of the desert
should come and asked him (the Holy Prophet) and we should
listen to it. A man from the dwellers of the desert came (to
the Holy Prophet) and said: Muhammad, your messenger came to
us and told us your assertion that verily Allah had sent you
(as a prophet). He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: He told the
truth. He (the bedouin) said: Who created the heaven? He (the
Holy Prophet) replied: Allah. He (the bedouin again) said: Who
created the earth? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Allah. He
(the bedouin again) said: Who raised these mountains and who
created in them whatever is created there? He (the Holy
Prophet) replied: Allah. Upon this he (the bedouin) remarked:
By Him Who created the heaven and created the earth and raised
mountains thereupon, has Allah (in fact) sent you? He (the
Holy Prophet) said: Yes. He (the bedouin) said: Your messenger
also told us that five prayers (had been made) obligatory for
us during the day and the night. He (the Holy Prophet)
remarked: He told you the truth. He (the bedouin) said: By Him
Who sent you, is it Allah Who ordered you about this (i. e.
prayers)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. He (the bedouin)
said: Your messenger told us that Zakat had been made
obligatory in our riches. He (the Holy Prophet) said. He has
told the truth. He (the bedouin) said: By Him Who sent you (as
a prophet), is it Allah Who ordered you about it (Zakat)? He
(the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. He (the bedouin) said: Your
messenger told us that it had been made obligatory for us to
fast every year during the month of Ramadan. He (the Holy
Prophet) said: He has told the truth. He (the bedouin) said:
By Him Who sent you (as a prophet), is it Allah Who ordered
you about it (the fasts of Ramadan)? He (the Holy Prophet)
said: Yes. He (the bedouin) said: Your messenger also told us
that pilgrimage (Hajj) to the House (of Ka'bah) had been made
obligatory for him who is able to undertake the journey to it.
He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. The narrator said that he
(the bedouin) set off (at the conclusion of this answer, but
at the time of his departure) remarked: 'By Him Who sent you
with the Truth, I would neither make any addition to them nor
would I diminish anything out of them. Upon this the Holy
Prophet remarked: If he were true (to what he said) he must
enter Paradise.

From: Sahih Muslim. Chapter 4, Prayers (Kitab Al-Salat)
Narrated/Authority of Hattan bin Abdullah al-Raqiishi
From: Sahih Muslim. Chapter 4, Prayers (Kitab Al-Salat)
Narrated/Authority of Hattan bin Abdullah al-Raqiishi
I observed prayer
with Abu Musu al-’Ash'ari and when he was in the qa'dah, one
among the people said: The prayer has been made obligatory
along with piety and Zakat. He (the narrator) said: When Abu
Musa had finished the prayer after salutation he tuined
(towards the people) and said: Who amongst you said such and
such a thing? A hush fell on the people. He again said.. Who
amongst you has said such and such a thing? A hush fell on the
people. He (Abu Musa) said: Hattan, It is perhaps you that
have uttered it. He (Hattan) said No. I have not uttered it. I
was afraid that you might be annoyed with me on account of
this. A person amongst the people said: It was I who said it,
and In this I intended nothing but good. Abu Musa said: Don't
you know what you have to recite in your prayers? Verily the
Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) addressed us and
explained to us all Its aspects and taught us how to observe
prayer (properly). He (the Holy Prophet) said: When you pray
make your rows straight and let anyone amongst you act as your
Imim. Recite the takbir when he recites it and when be
recites: Not of those with whom Thou art angry. nor of those
who go astray, say: Amin. Allah would respond you. And when he
(the Imim) recites the takbir, you may also recite the takbir,
for the Imam bows before you and raises himself before you.
Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The
one is equivalent to the other. And when he says: Allah
listens to him who praises Him, you should say: 0 Allah, our.
Lord, to Thee be the praise, for Allah, the Exalted and
Glorious, has vouchsafed (us) through the tongue of His
Apostle (may peace be upon him) that Allah listens to him who
praises Him. And when he (the Imim) recites the takbir and
prostrates, you should also recite the takbir and prostrate,
for the Imim prostrates before you and raises himself before
you. The Messenger' of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The
one is equi-’ valent to the other. And when he (the Imim) sits
for Qa'da (for tashahhud) the first words of every one amongst
you should be: All services rendered by words, acts of worship
and all good things are due to Allah. Peace be upon you,0
Apostle, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and
upon the upright servants of Allah. I testify that there is no
god but Allah, and I testify that Mubammad is His servant and
His Messenger.

Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
When this verse was revealed to Allah's Messenger (PBUH): "To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and whether you disclose what is in your minds or conceal it, Allah will reckon you according to it. Then He
will forgive whom He pleases and chastise whom He likes as Allah is All-Omnipotent over every thing." The narrator said: The Companions of Allah's Messenger (PBUH) felt it hard. They came to him, sat down on their knees and said: 0 Messenger (PBUH) of Allah, we have been assigned with some duties (tasks) which we have capability to perform such as: prayer (Salat), fasting (Saum), fighting in Allah's way (Jihad), and charity (Zakat). Now this (the above mentioned verse) was revealed to you and it is beyond our power to live up to. Then Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: Do you intend to say what the people of the two Scriptures (the Jews and Christians) had said before you: "We hear and disobey". Rather you should say: "We hear, obey and seek your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You is
the return". When the people recited it, their tongues became subdued with it. Then Allah revealed: "The Messenger (PBUH) believes in what is sent down to him from His Lord, and so do the believers (following him). Each one believes in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messenger (PBUH)s, saying: We differentiate not between any of His Messenger (PBUH)s; and they say: We hear and seek your
forgiveness, our Lord! And to You is the return". When they (the Companions) said the same, Allah abrogated this verse and Allah the All-Great, revealed a new one replacing it: "Allah burdens not a soul beyond its capacity. It gets every good that it earns and it suffers every ill that it earns. Our Lord! Punish us not, if we forget or make a mistake". (When the Companions repeated the same words) Allah said: Yes: (The Companions further repeated
the words as revealed to Prophet (SAW) Muhammad (SAW) Our Lord! Do not lay on us a burden as that you had laid on those before us. Allah said: Yes. (The Companions
further repeated) Our Lord! impose not on us (burdens) which we have no strength to bear. Allah said: Yes. (The Companions further repeated) And pardon us and provide us protection; and have Mercy on us. You are our Patron,
so please grant us victory over the disbelieving people" Allah said: Yes. (2:285,6)
(This Hadith is sound and reported by Muslim).
