"I asked Aisha about wiping over the Khuffs and she said: 'Go to Ali, for he knows more about that than I do.' So I went to Ali and asked him about wiping (over the Khuffs) and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to tell us to wipe (over the Khuffs) for one day and one night for the resident, and three for the traveller.'" (Sahih)

Narrated/Authority of Abdullah bin Masud
that on the night of the jinn, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said to him: "Do you have water for ablution?" He said: "No, I have nothing but some Nabidh* in a vessel." He said: "Good dates and pure water. (i.e., there is no harm from the mixing of the two)." So he performed ablution with it. This is the narration of Waki. (Daif) *Water in which grapes or dates are soaked, but not fermented.

that he heard Abu al-'Aliya saying that the cousin of your Prophet (may peace be upon him), i. e. Ibn Abbas, told him: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), while narrating his night journey observed: Musa (peace be upon him) was a man of high stature as if he was of the people of the Shanu'a (tribe), and Jesus was a well-built person having curly hair. He also mentioned Malik, the guardian of Hell, and Dajjal.

On my way to the Prophet (SAW) I was reciting: 'What a long tedious tiresome night! Nevertheless, it has saved us From the land of Kufr (disbelief).' I had a slave who ran away from me on the way. When I went to the Prophet (SAW) and gave the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam, the slave showed up while I was still with the Prophet (SAW) who remarked, "O Abu Huraira! Here is your slave!" I said, "I manumit him for Allah's Sake," and so I freed him.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Yusuf that as-Sa'ib ibn Yazid said, "Umar ibn al-Khattab ordered Ubayy ibn Kab and Tamim ad-Dari to watch the night in prayer with the people for eleven rakas.The reciterof the Qur'an would recite the Mi'in (a group of medium-sized suras) until we would be leaning on our staffs from having stood so long in prayer. And we would not leave until the approach of dawn."

Anas was asked, "Did Allah's Apostle wear a ring?" He said, "Yes. Once he delayed the 'Isha' prayer till mid-night and after the prayer, he faced us and said, 'The people prayed and have slept and you remained in prayer as long as you waited for it.' " Anas added, "As if I were just now observing the glitter of his ring."

Once on a very cold and stormy night, Ibn 'Umar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer and then said, "Pray in your homes." He (Ibn 'Umar) added. "On very cold and rainy nights Allah's Apostle used to order the Mu'adhdhin to say, 'Pray in your homes.' "

The Prophet (SAW) said twice, "(O you people) Be cautious! Do not practice Al-Wisal (continous fasting through the night)." The people said to him, "But you practice Al-Wisal?" The Prophet (SAW) replied, "My Lord gives me food and drink during my sleep. Do that much of deeds which is within your ability."
