"When they wanted to dig a grave for the Messenger of Allah (saw), they sent for Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah, who used to dig graves in the manner of the people of Makkah, and they sent for Abu Talhah, who used to dig graves for the people of Al-Madinah, and he used to make a niche in the grave. They sent two messengers to both of them, and they said: 'O Allah, choose what is best for Your Messenger.' They found Abu Talhah and brought him, but they did not find Abu Ubaidah. So he dug a grave with a niche for the Messenger of Allah (saw). When they had finished preparing him, on Tuesday, he was placed on his bed in his house. Then the people entered upon the Messenger of Allah (saw) in groups and offered the funeral prayer for him, and when they finished the women entered, and when they finished the children entered, and no one led the people in offering the funeral prayer for the Messenger of Allah (saw). The Muslims differed concerning the place where he should be buried. Some said that he should be buried in his mosque. Others said that he should be buried with his Companions. Then Abu Bakr said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say: "No Prophet ever passed away but he was buried where he died." So they lifted up the bed of the Messenger of Allah (saw) on which he had died, and dug the grave for him, then he (saw) was buried in the middle of Tuesday night. Ali bin Abu Talib, Fadl bin 'Abbas and his brother Qutham, and Shuqran the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (saw) went down in his grave. Aws bin Khawli, who was Abu Laila, said to Ali bin Abi Talib: 'I adjure you by Allah! Give us our share of the Messenger of Allah (saw).' So Ali said to him: 'Come down.' Shuqran, his freed slave, had taken a Qatifah which the Messenger of Allah (saw) used to wear. He buried it in his grave and said, 'By Allah, no one will ever wear it after you.' So it was buried with the Messenger of Allah (saw)." Sahih

having heard Sayyidina Abu Humayd Saidi (RA) say when he was among ten sahabah Sayyidina Abu Qatadah ibn Rabi was one of them that he knew about the salah of Allah's Messenger more than anyone of them. They said "Neither had you had the Prophet's (SAW) company earlier than us nor had you more of it or frequently." He said, "That is correct." They said, "Go on, narrate." Abu Humayd said, "When Allah's Messenger(SAW) stood up for salah, he stood straight and raised both hands to his shoulders. When he was going into the bowing posture, he would raise both hands to his shoulders and went into ruku, saying, Allahu Akbar. He observed ruku with moderation, neither lowering his hand nor raising it high. He placed both hands on his knees. He would then say: "Allah listens to one who praises Him" and raise his hands and he stood up moderately till every bone was in its place. Then he would bow down towards the ground for sajdah, saying Allahu Akbar, Kepping arms apart from arm-pits. He would turn his toes gently towards the qiblah. Then he truned the left foot and sat on it with moderation till every bone found its place. Then he lowered his head for sajdah, saying Allahu Akbar. Then he would stand up. He did this in every raka'ah. When he got up from both prostrations, he called the takbir and raised both hands up to his shoulders as he had done in the beginning of salah. He would do that till it was the last raka'ah of his salah. He would stretch the left leg and sit down on his hips in tuwarruk form. Then be turned in salutation."

That he had asked 'Aisha about the meaning of the Statement of Allah: "If you fear that you shall not Be able to deal justly With the orphan girls, then Marry (Other) women of your choice Two or three or four." (4.3)
She said, "O my nephew! This is about the orphan girl who lives with her guardian and shares his property. Her wealth and beauty may tempt him to marry her without giving her an adequate Mahr (bridal-money) which might have been given by another suitor. So, such guardians were forbidden to marry such orphan girls unless they treated them justly and gave them the most suitable Mahr; otherwise they were ordered to marry any other woman." 'Aisha further said, "After that verse the people again asked the Prophet (SAW) (about the marriage with orphan 'girls), so Allah revealed the following verses:-- 'They ask your instruction Concerning the women. Say: Allah Instructs you about them And about what is Recited unto you In the Book, concerning The orphan girls to whom You give not the prescribed portions and yet whom you Desire to marry..." (4.127)
What is meant by Allah's Saying: 'And about what is Recited unto you is the former verse which goes: 'If you fear that you shall not Be able to deal justly With the orphan girls, then Marry (other) women of your choice.' (4.3) 'Aisha said, "Allah's saying in the other verse: 'Yet whom you desire to marry' (4.127) means the desire of the guardian to marry an orphan girl under his supervision when she has not much property or beauty (in which case he should treat her justly). The guardians were forbidden to marry their orphan girls possessing property and beauty without being just to them, as they generally refrain from marrying them (when they are neither beautiful nor wealthy)."

who said:"While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu
'alayhi wasallam, there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely
white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible
on him, and none of us knew him.
He sat down close by the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, rested his
knee against his thighs, and said, O Muhammad! Inform me about
Islam." Said the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, "Islam is
that you should testify that there is no deity save Allah and that
Muhammad is His Messenger, that you should perform salah (ritual
prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj
(pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka'bah at Makkah), if you can find a way to
it (or find the means for making the journey to it)." Said he (the man),
"You have spoken truly."
We were astonished at his thus questioning him and telling him that he
was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about iman (faith)." He (the
Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His
angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in
fate (qadar), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have
spoken truly."
Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Messenger of
Allah) answered, " It is that you should serve Allah as though you could
see Him, for though you cannot see Him yet He sees you." He said,
"Inform me about the Hour." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "About
that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." So he said,
"Well, inform me about the signs thereof (i.e. of its coming)." Said he,
"They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, that you will see
the barefooted ones, the naked, the destitute, the herdsmen of the sheep
(competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings." Thereupon the
man went off.
I waited a while, and then he (the Messenger of Allah) said, "O 'Umar, do
you know who that questioner was?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger
know better." He said, "That was Jibril. He came to teach you your
religion.""

"The Messenger of Allah (saw) prayed one day, and ascended the pulpit, and he never used to ascend it, before that, except on Fridays. The people were alarmed by that, and some were standing and some were sitting. He gestured to them with his hand, telling them to sit. (Then he said:) 'By Allah, I am not standing here for something that will benefit you, an exhortation or warning. Rather Tamim Dari has come to me and told me something that prevented me from taking a rest because of the joy and delight (I felt), and I wanted to spread that joy among you. A cousin of Tamim Dari told me that the wind drove them to an island that they did not know, so they sat in the rowing boats of the ship and set out. There they saw something black, with long eyelashes. They said to it: "What are you?" It said: "I am Jassasah," They said: "Tell us." It said: "I will not tell you anything or ask you anything. Rather there is this monastery that you have looked at. Go to it, for there is a man there who is longing to hear your news and tell you news." So they went there and entered upon him, and they saw an old man firmly shackled, with a sorrowful appearance and complaining a great deal. He said to them: "Where have you come from?" They said: "From Sham." He said: "How are the Arabs faring?" They said: "We are from among the Arabs. What do you want to ask about?" He said: "What has this man done who has appeared among you?" They said: "(He has done) well. He made enemies of some people, but Allah supported him against them and now they have become one, with one God and one religion." He said: "What happened to the spring of Zughar?" They said: "It is good; we irrigate out crops from it and drink from it." He said: "What happened to the date-palms between 'Amman and Baisan?" They said: "They bear fruit every year." He said: "What happened to the Lake of Tiberias?" They said: "It overflows because of the abundance of water." He gave three deep sighs, then he said: "If I were to free myself from these chains, I would not leave any land without entering it on these two feet of mine, except for Taibah, for I have no way to enter it." The Prophet (saw) said: 'My joy is so great. This (Al-Madinah) is Taibah, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, there is no narrow or broad road in it, or any plain or mountain, but there is an angel (standing) over it with his sword unsheathed, until the Day of Resurrection.'"

The Prophet (saw) said to Abu Talha, "Choose one boy from your boys to serve me till the expedition to Khaibar." Abu Talha took me letting me ride behind him while I was a boy nearing the age of puberty. I used to serve Allah's Apostle (SAW) when he stopped to rest. Very often I used to hear him saying, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from distress and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from being heavily in debt and from being overcome by (other) men." Then we reached Khaibar; and when Allah enabled him to conquer the Fort (of Khaibar), the beauty of Safiya bint Huyai bin Akhtab was described to him. Her husband had been killed while she was a bride. So Allah's Apostle (SAW) selected her for himself and took her along with him till we reached a place called Sad As-Sahba, where she was clean from her menses, he took her for his wife. Hais (a kind of dish) was served on a small leather sheet. Then Allah's Messenger told me to call those who were around me. So, that was the marriage banquet of Allah's Messenger and Safiya. Then we left for Al-Madina. I saw Allah's Messenger folding a cloak round the hump of the camel so as to make a wide space for Safiya (to sit on behind him). He sat beside his camel letting his knees for Safiya to put her feet on so as to mount the camel. Then, we proceeded till we approached Al-Madina; he looked at Uhud (mountain) and said, "This is a mountain which loves us and is loved by us." Then he looked at Al-Al-Madina and said, "O Allah! I make the area between its (i.e. Al-Madina's) two mountains a sanctuary as Ibraham made Makkah a sanctuary. O Allah! Bless them (i.e. the people of Al-Al-Madina) in their Mudd and Sa (i.e. units of measuring)."

It is narrated either on the authority of Abu Huraira or that
of Abu Sa'id Khudri. The narrator A'mash has narrated this
hadith with a little bit of doubt (about the name of the very
first narrator who was in direct contact with the Holy
Prophet. He was either Abu Huraira or Abu Sa'id Khudri. Both
are equally reliable transmitters of the traditions). He (the
narrator) said: During the time of Tabuk expedition, the
(provisions) ran short and the men (of the army) suffered
starvation; they said: Messenger of Allah, would you permit us
to slay our camels? We would eat them and use their fat. The
Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do as you
please. He (the narrator) said: Then 'Umar came there and
said: Messenger of Allah, if you do that (if you give your
consent and the men begin to slay their camels), the riding
animals would become short. But (I would suggest you to)
summon them along with the provisions left with them Then
invoke Allah's blessings on them (different items of the
provisions) It is hoped Allah shall bless them. The Messenger
of Allah replied in the affirmative. (the narrator) said: He
called for a leather mat to be used as a table cloth and
spread it out. Then he called people along with the remaining
portions of their provisions. He (the narrator) said: Someone
was coming with handful of mote, another was coming with a
handful of dates, still another was coming with a portion of
bread, till small quantities of these things were collected on
the table cloth. He (the narrator said): Then the messenger of
Allah invoked blessing (on them) and said: Fill your utensils
with these provisions. He (the narrator) said: They filled
their vessel to the brim with them, and no one amongst the
army (which comprised of 30,000 persons) was left even with a
single empty vessel. He (the narrator) aid: They ate to their
fill, and there was still a surplus. Upon this the Messenger
of Allah (may peace be upon him) remarked: I bear testimony
that there is no god but Allah and I am the messenger of
Allah. The man who meets his Lord without harboring any doubt
about these two (truths) would never be kept away from
Paradise.

that on the night when he (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), the Messenger of Allah (saw) noticed a good fragrance and said: that on the night when he (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), the Messenger of Allah (saw) noticed a good fragrance and said:"O Jibril, what is this good fragrance?" He said: "This is the fragrance of the grave of the hairdresser and her two sons and her husband." He said: "That began when Khadir, who was one of the nobles of the Children of Israel, used to pass by a monk in his cell. The monk used to meet him and he taught him Islam. When Khadir reached adolescence, his father married him to a woman. He taught her and made her promise not to teach it to anyone. He used not to touch women, so he divorced her, then his father married him to another woman, and he taught her and made her promise not to teach it to anyone. One of them kept the secret but the other disclosed it, so he fled until he came to an island in the sea. Two men came, gathering firewood, and saw him. One of them kept the secret but the other disclosed it and said: 'I have seen Khadir.' It was said: 'Who else saw him besides you?' He said: 'So-and-so.' (The other man) was questioned but he kept silent. According to their religion, the liar was to be killed. The woman who had kept the secret got married, and while she was combing the hair of Pharoah's daughter, she dropped the comb and said: 'May Pharoah perish!' (The daughter) told her father about that. The woman had two sons and a husband. (Pharoah) sent for them, and tried to make the woman and her husband give up their religion, but they refused. He said: 'I am going to kill you.' They said: 'It would be an act of kindness on your part, if you kill us, to put us in one grave.' So he did that." When the Prophet (saw) was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), he noticed a good fragrance and asked Jibril about it and he told him."

Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: Allah has some angels who roam about the
streets in search of people mentioning Allah's Names.
When they find such a gathering, they call one another
saying: Come to the object of your pursuit. The Prophet (SAW) added: The angels surround them with their wings up to the lowest heaven (sky of the world). He
further added: (When the people in the gathering disperse, the angels ascend to the heaven). Their Lord, who knows best about the people, asks them: What do my slaves say? The angels reply: They were glorifying You (by repeating
the words "Allah is the All-Glorified", exalting You (by repeating the words "Allah is All-Great", praising You (by repeating the words "All praise be to
Allah"), and dignifying You. He asks them: Have they seen Me? The angels reply: No, by Allah. 0 Lord! They haven't seen You (at all). He asks: How would it be
if they saw Me? The angels reply: If they saw You, they would worship You more devotedly, dignify You more fervently and exalt You more sincerely. Then Allah asks them: What do they ask Me? The angels reply: They ask You Paradise. He asks them: Have they seen it? The angels reply: No, by Allah, they have not seen it. He asks: How would it be, if they saw it? The angels reply: If they
saw it, they would crave for it eagerly, seek after it vigorously and desire it ardently. He asks: From what do they seek My protection? The angels reply: (They seek your protection) from Hell. He asks: Have they seen it? The angels reply: No, by Allah, 0 Lord! They haven't see it (at all). He asks: How would it be, if they saw it. The angels reply: If they saw it, they would fear it extremely and flee from it hastily. Then Allah says (to the angels): I
make you witness that I have forgiven them. Allah's Messenger (PBUH) added: One of the angels would say: 0 Lord! among them was so-and-so (a much sinning slave) who was not actually included in the gathering but he happened to came there for some need (and sat down with them). Allah would remark: Anyhow, they were all
sitting together, so their companion will not be reduced to misery (i.e. they were sitting together and glorifying Allah, so he who sits with them will not suffer but get forgiveness as a reward for his association with the people
remembering Allah).
(This Hadith is sound and reported by Bukhari and
Muslim).

The Prophet said, "While three persons were walking, rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled over and blocked the mouth of the cave. They said to each other, 'Invoke Allah with the best deed you have performed (so Allah might remove the rock).' One of them said, 'O Allah! My parents were old and I used to go out for grazing (my animals). On my return I would milk (the animals) and take the milk in a vessel to my parents to drink. After they had drunk from it, I would give it to my children, family and wife. One day I was delayed and on my return I found my parents sleeping, and I disliked to wake them up. The children were crying at my feet (because of hunger). That state of affairs continued till it was dawn. O Allah! If You regard that I did it for Your sake, then please remove this rock so that we may see the sky.' So, the rock was moved a bit. The second said, 'O Allah! You know that I was in love with a cousin of mine, like the deepest love a man may have for a woman, and she told me that I would not get my desire fulfilled unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars (gold pieces). So, I struggled for it till I gathered the desired amount, and when I sat in between her legs, she told me to be afraid of Allah, and asked me not to deflower her except rightfully (by marriage). So, I got up and left her. O Allah! If You regard that I did if for Your sake, kindly remove this rock.' So, two-thirds of the rock was removed. Then the third man said, 'O Allah! No doubt You know that once I employed a worker for one Faraq (three Sas) of millet, and when I wanted to pay him, he refused to take it, so I sowed it and from its yield I bought cows and a shepherd. After a time that man came and demanded his money. I said to him: Go to those cows and the shepherd and take them for they are for you. He asked me whether I was joking with him. I told him that I was not joking with him, and all that belonged to him. O Allah! If You regard that I did it sincerely for Your sake, then please remove the rock.' So, the rock was removed completely from the mouth of the cave."
