On a rainy day Ibn Abbas said to his Muadh-dhin, "After saying, 'Ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah' (I testify that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle), do not say 'Haiya 'Alas-Salat' (come for the prayer) but say 'Pray in your houses'." (The man did so). But the people disliked it. Ibn Abbas said, "It was done by one who was much better than I (i.e. the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ). No doubt, the Jumua prayer is compulsory but I dislike to put you to task by bringing you out walking in mud and slush."

Once I was traveling with the Prophet and he said, "O Mughira! take this container of water." I took it and Allah's Apostle went far away till he disappeared. He answered the call of nature and was wearing a Syrian cloak. He tried to take out his hands from its sleeve but it was very tight so he took out his hands from under it. I poured water and he performed ablution like that for prayers and passed his wet hands over his Khuff (leather socks) and then prayed.

"While I was in the Masjid in the first row, a man pulled me from behind and moved me aside, and took my place. By Allah, I could not focus on my prayer, then when he left I saw that it was Ubayy bin Kab. He said: 'O boy, may Allah protect you from harm. This is what the Prophet (saw) instructed us to do, to stand directly behind him.' Then he (Ubayy) turned to face the Qiblah and said: 'Doomed are Ahl Al-Uqd, by the Lord of the Kabah! - three times.' Then he said: 'By Allah, I am not sad for them, but I am sad for the people whom they have misled.' I said: 'O Abu Yaqub, what do you mean by Al Al-Uqd?' He said: 'The rulers.'" (Sahih)

that the Prophet (saw) said: "There will be some people among my Ummah (nation) who will gain knowledge of the religion, and they will recite Quran, and will say: 'We come to the rulers so that we may have some share of their worldly wealth, and we will make sure that our religious commitments is not affected,' but that will not be the case. Just as nothing can be harvested from the Qatad* except thorns, so nothing can be gained from being close to them except (sins).'" "I heard Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabiah narrating from his father that the Prophet (saw) said: "There is no Muslim who sends peace and blessings upon me, but the angels will send peace and blessings upon him as long as he sends peace and blessings upon me. So let a person do a little of that or a lot." (Daif)

I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds (takes one) nearer to Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Prayer at its proper time, I said: What next, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Kindness to the parents. I said: What next? He replied: Jihad in the cause of Allah.

that he heard the Prophet (SAW) say, "When one of you forgets in his salah and does not recall whether he has prayed one or two then let him settle for one, but if he does not recall whether he has prayed two or three then let him settle for two, but if he does not know whether he has prayed three or four then let him settle for three. And he should prostrate two prostrations before he makes the salutation." [Ahmed 1656, Ibn e Majah 1209]

The Prophet observed the fast on the 10th of Muharram (Ashura), and ordered (Muslims) to fast on that day, but when the fasting of the month of Ramadan was prescribed, the fasting of the 'Ashura' was abandoned. Abdullah did not use to fast on that day unless it coincided with his routine fasting by chance.

I heard that the people asked the Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him): Water is brought for you from the well of Buda'ah. It is a well in which dead dogs, menstrual clothes and excrement of people are thrown. The Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) replied: Verily water is pure and is not defiled by anything.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) also said, "It (i.e., Makkah's) thorny bushes should not be uprooted and its game should not be chased, and picking up its fallen things is illegal except by him who makes public announcement about it, and its grass should not be cut." Abbas said, "O Allah's Messenger! Except Eidhkhir (a kind of grass)." The Prophet (SAW) said, "Except Eidhkhir."
