"The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to gently pat our shoulders (to make sure the row was straight) at the time of prayer, and he would say: 'Keep (the rows) straight; do not differ from one another lest your hearts would be afflicted with discord. Let those who are mature and wise stand closest to me, then those who are next to them, then those who are next to them.'" Abu Masud said: Today, there is much disharmony among you. Abu Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasai) said: (One of the narrators) Abu Mamar's name is Abdullah bin Sakhbarah. (Sahih)

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab, and he had heard from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad that they said, "When a free man marries a slave-girl and consummates the marriage, she makes him muhsan." Malik said, "All (of the people of knowledge) I have seen said that a slave-girl makes a free man muhsan when he marries her and consummates the marriage." Malik said, "A slave makes a free woman muhsana when he consummates a marriage with her and a free woman only makes a slave muhsan when he is freed and he is her husband and has had sexual relations with her after he has been set free. If he parts from her before he is free, he is not a muhsan unless he marries her after having been set free and he consummates the marriage." Malik said, "When a slave-girl is married to a free man and then he separates from her before she is set free, his marriage to her does not make her muhsana. She is not muhsana until she has married after she has been set free and she has had intercourse with her husband. That gives her ihsan. If she is the wife of a freeman and then she is set free while she is his wife before he separates from her, the man makes her muhsana if he has intercourse with her after she has been set free." Malik said, "The christian and jewish free women and the muslim slave-girl all make a muslim free man muhsan when he marries one of them and has intercourse with her."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Thawr ibn Zayd ad-Dili that Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, sent down about a man who divorced his wife and then returned to her while he had no need of her and did not mean to keep her so as to make the idda period long for her by that in order to do her harm, "Do not retain them by force, to transgress. Whoever does that has wronged himself." (Sura 2 ayat 231). Allah warns them by that ayat.

The Prophet (SAW) said: While Ayub (Job [PBUH]) was naked, taking a bath, a swarm of gold locusts fell on him. He started collecting them in his garment. At this, his Lord said: O Ayub! Have I not bestowed you with enough (wealth) to make you dispensable with what you see? He replied: Yes, my Lord! But I can't dispense with Your blessings. (This Hadith is sound and reported by Bukhari).

Safwan ibn Sulaym reported on the authority of Saeed ibn Salamah of the descendants of ibn al Azraq that Mughirah ibn Abu burdah Abdad Dar informed him that he heard Sayyidina Abu Hurraira say that a man said to Allah's messenger (SAW), "O then we would go thirsty. May we make ablution with sea water?" He said ,"Its water is pure and its dead are lawful food." [Ahmed8743, Abu Dawud 83, Nisai 59, Ibn e Majah 386]

On the day (of the battle) of Al-Ahzab (the confederates) I saw the Prophet (SAW) carrying earth, and the earth was covering the whiteness of his abdomen. And he was saying, "Without You (O Allah!) we would have got no guidance, nor given in charity, nor offered salat (prayers). So please bless us with tranquility and make firm our feet when we meet our enemies. Indeed (these) people have rebelled against us but never shall we yield if they try to bring Fitnah (affliction, trial) upon us."

One night Allah's Apostle came to me and Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet and asked, "Won't you pray (at night)?" I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Our souls are in the hands of Allah and if He wants us to get up He will make us get up." When I said that, he left us without saying anything and I heard that he was hitting his thigh and saying, "But man is more quarrelsome than anything." (18.54)

And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure.'"[9:108] He said: 'They used to clean themselves with water (after urinating), and this Verse was revealed concerning them.'" (Hasan)

Sayyidina lbn Abbas (RA) asked Sayyidina Abu Huraira (RA), "Shall we make ablution after consuming oil and using hot water?" So, he said, "Nephew! wife of the son of Sayyidina Abu Qatadah (RA) narrated," Abu Qatadah visited us and I poured out water in a vessel for ablution he may make. A cat came and began to drink it. He tilted the vessel for it till she drank her fill. He saw me looking at him and asked if I was surprised. When I said that I was, he said that Allah's Messenger (SAW) had said that it was not impure (or unclean) and it is one of those that go round us. [Ahmed 22591, 2264]
