From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 19, The Chapters on Pawning
Narrated/Authority of Abdullah bin Zubair
a man from among the Ansar had a dispute with Zubair in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (saw) concerning the streams of the Harrah with which he irrigated his palm trees. The Ansari said: "Let the water flow," but he refused. So they referred their dispute to the Messenger of Allah (saw). The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "Irrigate (your trees) O Zubair, then let the water flow to your neighbor." The Ansari became angry and said: "O Messenger of Allah (saw), is it because he is your cousin (son of your paternal aunt)?" The expression of the Messenger of Allah (saw) changed, then he said: "O Zubair, irrigate (your trees) then retain the water until it reaches the walls." Zubair said: "I think this Verse was revealed concerning that: "But no, by your Lord, they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.'" Narrated/Authority of Abu Hurairah
"Safwan bin Mu'attal asked the Messenger of Allah (saw): 'O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you about something of which you have knowledge and I know nothing.' He said: 'What is it?' He said: 'Is there any time of the night or day when it is disliked to perform prayer? He said: 'Yes, when you have prayed the Subh, then do not pray until the sun has risen, for it rises between the two horns of Satan. Then pray, for the prayer is attended (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until the sun is right overhead like a spear. For at that time Hell is heated up and its gates are opened. (Then refrain from prayer) until the sun passes the zenith. Then when it has passed the zenith, the prayer is attended (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until you pray the 'Asr. Then stop praying until the sun has set.'" Daif

"I was present with Ibn Umar at a funeral. When the body was placed in the niche-grave) he said, 'Bismillah wa fi sabil-illah wa 'ala millati rasul-illah' (In the Name of Allah, for the sake of Allah and according to the religion of the Messenger of Allah). When he started to place bricks in the niche-grave he said: 'Allahumma ajirha min ash-shaitani wa min 'adhabil-qabr. Allahumma Jafil-arda 'an janbaiha, wa sa'id ruhaha, wa laqqiha minka ridwana (O Allah, protect him from Satan and from the torment of the grave; O Allah, keep the earth away from his two sides and take his soul up and grant him pleasure from Yourself).' I said: 'O Ibn Umar, is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (saw) or is it your own words?' He said: 'I could have said something like that, but this is something that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (saw).'" Sahih

Narrated/Authority of Urwa bin Az-Zubair
Az-Zubair told me that he quarrelled with an Ansari man who had participated in (the battle of) Badr in front of Allah's Apostle (SAW) about a water stream which both of them used for irrigation. Allah's Apostle (SAW) said to Az-Zubair, "O Zubair! Irrigate (your garden) first, and then let the water flow to your neighbour." The Ansari became angry and said, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! Is it because he is your cousin?" On that the complexion of Allah's Apostle (SAW) changed (because of anger) and said (to Az-Zubair), "Irrigate (your garden) and then withhold the water till it reaches the walls (surrounding the palms)." So, Allah's Apostle (SAW) gave Az-Zubair his full right. Before that Allah's Apostle (SAW) had given a generous judgment beneficial for Az-Zubair and the Ansari, but when the Ansari irritated Allah's Apostle (SAW) he gave Az-Zubair his full right according to the evident law. Az-Zubair said, "By Allah! I think the following Verse was revealed concerning that case: "But no by your Lord They can have No faith Until they make you judge In all disputes between them...." (4.65)

that his father said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) when he started the prayer. He said: 'Allahu Akbaru kabiran, Allahu Akbaru kabiran (Allah is the Most Great indeed),' three times; 'Al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran, al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran (Much praise is to Allah),' three times; 'Subhan Allahi bukratan wa asilan (Glory is to Allah morning and evening),' three times; 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minash-Shaitanir-rajim, min hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his poetry, and his pride)." (Hasan) (One of the narrators) Amr said: "Hamzuhu is his madness, Nafathuhu is poetry and Nafkhuhu is pride."

Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Khazraj and the Aus, before Islam). The Prophet (p.b.u.h) lay down and turned his face to the other side. Then Abu Bakr came and spoke to me harshly saying, "Musical instruments of Satan near the Prophet (p.b.u.h)?" Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I signalled to those girls to go out and they left. It was the day of Eid, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet (p.b.u.h) or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet (p.b.u.h) made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on! O Bani Arfida," till I got tired. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) asked me, "Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?" I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Said ibn al-Musayyab that Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "The woman who loses her husband and does not know where he is, waits for four years, then she does idda for four months, and then she is free to marry." Malik said, "If she marries after her idda is over, regardless of whether the new husband has consummated the marriage or not, her first husband has no means of access to her." Malik said, "That is what is done among us and if her husband reaches her before she has remarried, he is more entitled to her." Malik said that he had seen people disapproving of someone who said that one of the people (of knowledge) attributed to Umar ibn al-Khattab that he said, "Her first husband chooses when he comes either her bride-price or his wife." Malik said, "I have heard that Umar ibn al-Khattab, speaking about a woman whose husband divorced her while he was absent from her, and then he took her back and the news of his taking her back had not reached her, while the news of his divorcing her had, and so she had married again, said, 'Her first husband who divorced her has no means of access to her whether or not the new husband has consummated the marriage.' " Malik said, "This is what I like the best of what I heard about the missing man."

Narrated/Authority of Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas
that his father said: "I heard the Prophet (saw) say, during the Farewell Pilgrimage: 'O people! Which day is the most sacred?' three times. They said: 'The day of the greatest Hajj.' He said: 'Your blood and your wealth and your honor are sacred to one another, as sacred as this day of yours, in this land of your. No sinner commits a sin but it is against himself. No father is to be punished for the sins of his child, and no child is to be punished for the sins of his father. Satan has despaired of ever being worshipping in this land of yours, but he will be obeyed in some matters which you regard as insignificant, and he will be content with that. All the blood feuds of the Ignorance days are abolished, and the first of them that I abolish is the blood feud of Harith bin Abdul-Muttalib, who was nursed among Banu Laith and killed by Hudhail. All the usuries of the Ignorance days are abolished, but you will have your capital. Do not wrong others and you will not be wronged. O my nation, have I conveyed (the message)?' (He asked this) three times. They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O Allah, bear witness!' three times."

The Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was asked about performing ablution after eating the flesh of the camel. He replied: Perform ablution, after eating it. He was asked about performing ablution after eating meat. He replied: Do not perform ablution after eating it. He was asked about saying prayer in places where the camels lie down. He replied: Do not offer prayer in places where the camels lie down. These are the places of Satan. He was asked about saying prayer in the sheepfolds. He replied: You may offer prayer in such places; these are the places of blessing.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Zurayq ibn Hakim informed him that he had a runaway slave who had stolen. He said, "The situation was obscure for me, so I wrote to Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz to ask him about it. He was the governor at that time. I informed him that I had heard that if a runaway slave stole while he was a fugitive, his hand was not cut off. 'Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz wrote to contradict my letter, 'You wrote to me that you have heard that when the runaway slave steals, his hand is not cut off. Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, says in His Book, 'The thief, male and female, cut off the hands of both, as a recompense for what they have earned, and an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise.' (Sura 5 ayat 41) When his theft reaches a quarter of a dinar, and upwards, his hand is cut off.' " Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that al-Qasim ibn Muhammad and Salim ibn Abdullah and Urwa ibn az-Zubayr said, "When a runaway slave steals something for which cutting off the hand is obliged, his hand is cut off." Malik said, "The way of doing things amongst us about which there is no dispute is that when the runaway slave steals that for which cutting off the hand is obliged, his hand is cut off."
