Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "If somebody takes a false oath in order to get the property of a Muslim (unjustly) by that oath, then Allah will be angry with him when he will meet Him." Al-Ashath informed me, "By Allah! This was said regarding me. There was a dispute about a piece of land between me and a man from the Jews who denied my right. I took him to the Prophet (SAW). Allah's Apostle (SAW) asked me, 'Do you have an evidence?' I replied in the negative. He said to the Jew, 'Take an oath.' I said, 'O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! He will surely take an oath and take my property unjustly." So, Allah revealed: "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths . . . " (3.77)

"The Messenger of Allah (saw) passed by a dome-shaped structure at the door of a man among the Ansar and said: What is this? They said: A dome that was built by so-and-so. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: All wealth that is like this (extravagant) will bring evil consequences to its owner on the Day of Resurrection. News of that reached the Ansari, so he demolished it. Then the Prophet (saw) passed by (that place) later on and did not see it. He asked about it and was told that its owner had demolished it because of what he had heard from him. He said: May Allah have mercy on him, may Allah have mercy on him."

he used to lease out some land that belonged to him, for cultivation. Then someone came to him and told him that Rafi' bin Khadij said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) had forbidden leasing out land for cultivation. Ibn Umar went, and I went with him, until he met him in Balat, and asked him about that, and he told him that the Messenger of Allah (saw) had forbidden leasing out land for cultivation. So Abdullah stopped lessening out land.

Yahya related to me from Malik, from Yahya ibn Said, that he heard Said ibn al-Musayyab relating from Abu Hurayra that he was once coming back from Bahrayn, and, when he reached ar-Rabadha, he found a caravan of people from Iraq in ihram, who asked him whether they could eat the meat of some game which they had found with the people of ar-Rabadha, and he told them they could eat it. He said, "Afterwards I had doubts about what I had told them to do, so when I got back to Madina I mentioned the matter to Umar ibn al-Khattab and he said, 'What did you tell them to do?' I said, ' I told them to eat it.' Umar ibn al-Khattab said, threatening me, 'If you had told them to do anything else I would have done something to you.' "

(who had piles) I asked Allah's Apostle about the praying of a man while sitting. He said, "If he prays while standing it is better and he who prays while sitting gets half the reward of that who prays standing; and whoever prays while Lying gets half the reward of that who prays while sitting."

Yahya related to me from Malik from as-Salt ibn Zubayd from more than one of his family that Umar ibn al-Khattab discovered the smell of perfume while he was at ash-Shajara. Kathir ibn as-Salt was at his side, and Umar asked, "Who is this smell of perfume coming from?", and Kathir said, "From me, amir al-muminin. I matted my hair with perfume and I intended not to shave it." Umar said, "Go to a sharaba and rub your head until it is clean," and Kathir did so. Malik explained, "A sharaba is the ditch at the base of a date-palm."

Abu Salamah asked Sayyidah Aishah about the salah of Allah's Messenger (SAW) (in the night) in Ramadan. She said, "Allah's Messenger (SAW) did not exceed eleven rakat in Ramadan or otherwise. He prayed four, but do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he (saw) prayed four, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he prayed three, and I said, "0 Messenger of Allah! Do you sleep before offering the witr?" He said, "My eyes sleep but the heart keeps awake." [Ahmed 24500, Bukhari 1147, Muslim 738, Abu Dawud 1341, Nisai 1693]

Yahya related to me from Malik that Muhammad ibn Uqba, the mawla of az Zubayr, asked al-Qasim ibn Muhammad whether he had to pay any zakat on a large sum given to him by his slave to buy his freedom. Al-Qasim said, "Abu Bakr as-Siddiq did not take zakat from anyone's property until it had been in his possession for a year." Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad continued, "When Abu Bakr gave men their allowances he would ask them, 'Do you have any property on which zakat is due?' If they said, 'Yes,' he would take the zakat on that property out of their allowances. If they said, 'No,' he would hand over their allowances to them without deducting anything from them."

The Prophet (SAW) sent for a woman from the emigrants and she had a slave who was a carpenter. The Prophet (SAW) said to her "Order your slave to prepare the wood (pieces) for the pulpit." So, she ordered her slave who went and cut the wood from the tamarisk and prepared the pulpit, for the Prophet (SAW). When he finished the pulpit, the woman informed the Prophet (SAW) that it had been finished. The Prophet (SAW) asked her to send that pulpit to him, so they brought it. The Prophet (SAW) lifted it and placed it at the place in which you see now."

When Allah's Apostle (SAW) concluded a peace treaty with Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolators, pagans) at Al-Hudaibiya, Ali bin Abu Talib wrote the document and he mentioned in it, "Muhammad, Allah's Apostle (SAW)." The Mushrikun said, "Don't write: Muhammad, Allah's Apostle (SAW)', for if you were an apostle we would not fight with you." Allah's Apostle (SAW) asked Ali to rub it out, but Ali said, "I will not be the person to rub it out." Allah's Apostle (SAW) rubbed it out and made peace with them on the condition that the Prophet (SAW) and his companions would enter Makkah and stay there for three days, and that they would enter with their weapons in cases.
