Once in a cold night, Ibn 'Umar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer at ,Dajnan (the name of a mountain) and then said, "Pray at your homes", and informed us that Allah's Apostle used to tell the Mu'adhdin to pronounce Adhan and say, "Pray at your homes" at the end of the Adhan on a rainy or a very cold night during the journey."

"Anas bin Malik was asked: 'Did the Prophet (saw) wear a ring?' He said: 'Yes.' One night he delayed the Isha prayer until almost the middle of the night. When he had prayed he turned to face us and said: 'The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you will still be in a state of prayer so long as you are waiting for the (next) prayer.'" (Sahih) Anas said: "It is as if I can see the sparkle from his ring."

Allah's Apostle told me, "The most beloved prayer to Allah is that of David and the most beloved fasts to Allah are those of David. He used to sleep for half of the night and then pray for one third of the night and again sleep for its sixth part and used to fast on alternate days."

Ghudayf ibn al-Harith reported: I asked Aisha: Have you seen the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) washing (because of defilement) at the beginning of the night or at the end? She replied: Sometimes he would take a bath at the beginning of the night and sometimes at the end. Thereupon I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All Praise be to Allah Who made this matter accommodative. I again asked her: What do you think, did the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say the witr prayer (additional prayer after obligatory prayer at night) in the beginning of the night or at the end? She replied: Sometimes he would say the witr prayer at the beginning of the night and sometimes at the end. I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All praise be to Allah Who made the matter accommodative. Again I asked her: What do you think, did the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) recite the Qur'an (in the prayer) loudly or softly? She replied: Sometimes he would recite loudly and sometimes softly. I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All praise be to Allah Who made the matter flexible.

Masruq asked Sayyidah Aishah (RA) about the Prophet's (SAW) witr. She said, "He offered the witr in the night, the first of it, the middle of it and the last of it. So, he ended his witr about the time of his death towards the last of the night (at the time of suhr, before dawn before his death)." while recounting the Night journey of the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him), from the mosque of Kabah, reported: Three beings (angels) came to him in the mosque of the Kabah, while he was sleeping in the sacred mosque before it (the Command of Night Journey and Accension) was revealed to him. The rest of the hadith is narrated like that of Thabit. However, some portions have occurred before and some of them have occurred after; some have been added and some deleted.

"The Messenger of Allah (saw) said to Abu Bakr: 'When do you pray Witr?' He said: 'At the beginning of the night, after Isha.' He said: 'And you, O Umar?' He said: 'At the end of the night.' The Prophet (saw) said: 'As for you, O Abu Bakr, you have seized the trustworthy handhold (i.e., you want to be on the safe side), and as for you, O Umar, you have seized strength (i.e., you are confident that you have the resolve to get up and pray Witr).'" We observed the prayer after nightfall with the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him), and he did not come out till about half the night had passed. He then said: Take your places. We then took our places. Then he said: The people have prayed and gone to bed, but you are still engaged in prayer as long as you wait for the prayer. Were it not for the weakness of the weak and for the sickness of the sick. I would delay this prayer till half the night had gone.

Allah's Apostle said, "Do not fast continuously day and night (Al-Wisal) and if anyone of you intends to fast continuously day and night, he should continue till the Suhur time." They said, "But you practise Al-Wisal, O Allah's Apostle!" The Prophet said, "I am not similar to you, during my sleep I have One Who makes me eat and drink."

that he spent a night at the house of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), The Apostle of Allah (way peace be upon him) got up for prayer in the latter part of the night. He went out and looked towards the sky and then recited this verse (190th) of AI-i-'Imran:" Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day." up to the (words)" save us from the torment of Hell." He then returned to his house, used the tooth-stick, performed the ablution, and then got up and offered the prayer. He than lay down on the bed. and again got up and went out and looked towards the sky and recited this verse (mentioned above), then returned, used the tooth-stick, performed ablution and again offered the prayer.
