that once during the journey of the Holy Prophet (may peace of Allah be upon him) a bedouin appeared before him and caught hold of the nosestring of his she?camel and then said, Messenger of Allah (or Muhammad), inform me about that which takes me near to Paradise and draws me away from the Fire (of Hell). He (the narrator) said: The Prophet (may peace be upon him) stopped for a while and cast a glance upon his companions and then said: He was afforded a good opportunity (or he had been guided well). He (the Holy Prophet) addressing the bedouin said: (Repeat) whatever you have uttered. He (the bedouin) repeated that. Upon this the Apostle (may peace be upon him) remarked: The deed which can draw you near to Paradise and take you away from Hell is, that you worship Allah and associate none with Him, and you establish prayer and pay Zakat, and do good to your kin. After having uttered these words, the Holy Prophet asked the bedouin to release the nosestring of his she-camel.

Hadith No: 3973
From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 39, The Chapters on Tribulations
Narrated/Authority of Muadh bin Jabal
"I was with the Messenger of Allah (saw) on a journey. One morning I drew close to him when we were on the move and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me of an action that will gain me admittance to Paradise and keep me far away from Hell.' He said: 'You have asked for something great, but it is easy for the one for whom Allah makes it easy. Worship Allah and do not associate anything in worship with Him, establish prayer, pay charity, fast Ramadan, and perform Hajj to the House.' Then he said: 'Shall I not tell you of the means of goodness? Fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire, and a man's prayer in the middle of the night.' Then he recited: "Their sides forsake their beds" until he reached: "As a reward for what they used to do."[32:16-17] Then he said: 'Shall I not tell you of the head of the matter, and its pillar and pinnacle? (It is) Jihad.' Then he said: 'Shall I not tell you of the basis of all that?' I said: 'Yes.' He took hold of his tongue then said: 'Restrain this.' I said: 'O Prophet of Allah, will we be brought to account for what we say?' He said: 'May your mother not found you, O Muadh! Are people thrown onto their faces in Hell for anything other than the harvest of their tongues?'"

From: Sahih Bukhari. Chapter 2, Belief
Narrated/Authority of Abu Said Al-Khudri
The Prophet said, "When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will go to Hell, Allah will order those who have had faith equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed to be taken out from Hell. So they will be taken out but (by then) they will be blackened (charred). Then they will be put in the river of Haya' (rain) or Hayat (life) (the Narrator is in doubt as to which is the right term), and they will revive like a grain that grows near the bank of a flood channel. Don't you see that it comes out yellow and twisted"

Hadith No: 36
From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (SAW) said: Once Paradise and Hell argued with one another. Hell said: I have been given preference by the oppressors and tyrants. Paradise said: What is the matter with me that only weak and humble people enter me. Allah (SWT) said to the Paradise: You are My mercy. I will bestow mercy through you on whom I wish from among My slaves. And He said to Hell: Rather you are My torment. I will torment by you whom I wish from among My slaves. The Prophet (SAW) added: Each of them will take its capacity. As for Hell, it will not be filled until Allah puts down His glorified foot in it. Then it will say: Enough! Enough! Enough! at that time all its parts will be filled up. Allah will not treat unjustly anyone of His creation. As regards Paradise, Allah will create other creations to fill it. (Being All-Merciful) (This Hadith is sound and reported by Bukhari and Muslim).
