Narrated/Authority of Jabir bin Abdullah
Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Who would kill Kab bin Al-Ashraf as he has harmed Allah and His Apostle (SAW) ?" Muhammad bin Maslama (got up and) said, "I will kill him." So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to Kab and said, "I want a loan of one or two Wasqs of food grains." Kab said, "Mortgage your women to me." Muhammad bin Maslama said, "How can we mortgage our women, and you are the most handsome among the Arabs?" He said, "Then mortgage your sons to me." Muhammad said, "How can we mortgage our sons, as the people will abuse them for being mortgaged for one or two Wasqs of food grains? It is shameful for us. But we will mortgage our arms to you." So, Muhammad bin Maslama promised him that he would come to him next time. They (Muhammad bin Maslama and his companions) came to him as promised and murdered him. Then they went to the Prophet (SAW) and told him about it.

Allah's Apostle (SAW) said (to me), "Produce two witnesses (to support your claim); otherwise the defendant has the right to take an oath (to refute your claim).' I said, "The defendant would not mind to take a false oath." Allah's Apostle (SAW) then said, 'Whoever took a false oath in order to grab someone else's property will meet Allah, Allah will be angry with him.' Allah then revealed what Confirmed it." On my way to the Prophet (SAW) I was reciting: 'What a long tedious tiresome night! Nevertheless, it has saved us From the land of Kufr (disbelief).' I had a slave who ran away from me on the way. When I went to the Prophet (SAW) and gave the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam, the slave showed up while I was still with the Prophet (SAW) who remarked, "O Abu Huraira! Here is your slave!" I said, "I manumit him for Allah's Sake," and so I freed him.

My father told me that Hakim bin Hizam manumitted one-hundred slaves in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance and slaughtered one hundred camels (and distributed them in charity). When he embraced Islam he again slaughtered one hundred camels and manumitted one hundred slaves. Hakim said, "I asked Allah's Apostle (SAW), 'O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! What do you think about some good deeds I used to practice in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance regarding them as deeds of righteousness?' Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "You have embraced Islam along with all those good deeds you did."

Utba bin Abi Waqqas authorized his brother Sad bin Abi Waqqas to take the son of the slave-girl of Zama into his custody, telling him that the boy was his own (illegal) son. When Allah's Apostle (SAW) went (to Makkah) at the time of the Conquest, Sad took the son of the slavegirl of Zama to Allah's Apostle (SAW) and also brought Abd bin Zama with him and said, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! This is the son of my brother Utba who authorised me to take him into my custody." Abd bin Zama said, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! He is my brother, the son of Zama's slave-girl and he was born on his bed." Allah's Apostle (SAW) looked at the son of the slave-girl of Zama and noticed much resemblance (to Utba). Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "It is for you, O Abd bin Zama as he was born on the bed of your father." Allah's Apostle (SAW) then told Sauda bint Zama to observe veil in the presence of the boy as he noticed the boy's resemblance to Utba and Sauda was the wife of the Prophet (SAW).
