from Thabit, that the Prophet (saw) was mentioned before Anas bin Malik and he said: "He was the best of people, the most generous of people, the most courageous of people. The people of Al-Madinah became alarmed one night, and he was the first of them to investigate the noise and din. He was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talhah, bareback, with no saddle. His sword was hanging from his neck and he was saying: 'O people, do not be afraid,' sending them back to their houses. Then he said of the horse, 'We found it like a sea,' or, 'It is a sea.'"*

(One day) I sat along with Shaiba on the chair inside the Kaaba. He (Shaiba) said, "No doubt, Umar sat at this place and said, 'I intended not to leave any yellow (i.e. gold) or white (i.e. silver) (inside the Kaaba) undistributed.' I said (to 'Umar), 'But your two companions (i.e. The Prophet and Abu Bakr) did not do so.' 'Umar said, They are the two persons whom I always follow.' "

that he heard the Prophet (saw) say: "Dreams are attached to the foot of a bird* until they are interpreted, then when they are interpreted they come to pass." He said: "And dreams are one of the forty-six parts of prophecy." He (the narrator) said: "And I think he said: '(A person) should not tell them except to one whom he loves or one who is wise.'" *It is said that this is a parable, and its meaning is that they are not settled.

Jarir said, "We were with the Prophet and he looked at the moon--full-moon--and said, 'Certainly you will see your Lord as you see this moon and you will have no trouble in seeing Him. So if you can avoid missing (through sleep or business, etc.) a prayer before the sun-rise (Fajr) and a prayer before sunset ('Asr), you must do so.' He then recited Allah's Statement: And celebrate the praises Of your Lord before The rising of the sun And before (its) setting." (50.39) Isma'il said, "Offer those prayers and do not miss them."

While Umar bin Al-Khattab was standing and delivering the sermon on a Friday, one of the companions of the Prophet, who was one of the foremost Muhajirs (emigrants) came. 'Umar said to him, "What is the time now?" He replied, "I was busy and could not go back to my house till I heard the Adhan. I did not perform more than the ablution." Thereupon 'Umar said to him, "Did you perform only the ablution although you know that Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) used to order us to take a bath (on Fridays)?"

My prostatic fluid flowed excessively. I used to take a bath until my back cracked (because of frequent washing). I mentioned it to the Prophet (may peace be upon him), or the fact was mentioned to him (by someone else). The Apos-tle of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do not do so. When you find pro-static fluid, wash your penis and perform ablution as you do for prayer, but when you have seminal emission, you should take a bath."

"The Prophet (saw) used to say: 'Allahumma tahhirni bith-thalji wal-barad wal-ma' al-barid, Allahumma tahhirni min adh-dhunub kama ytahhar ath-thawb al-abyad min ad-danas (O Allah, purify me with snow and hail and cold water, O Allah, purify me of sin as a white garment is cleansed of dirt)." Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet (SAW) said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

Once I said, "O Allah's Apostle (SAW)! I have no property except what has been given to me by Az-Zubair (i.e. her husband). May I give in charity?" The Prophet (SAW) said, "Give in charity and do not withhold it; otherwise Allah will withhold it back from you."
