I heard Sahl bin Sad saying, "A woman brought a Burda (i.e. a square piece of cloth having edging). I asked, 'Do you know what a Burda is?' They replied in the affirmative and said, "It is a cloth sheet with woven margins." Sahl went on, "She addressed the Prophet and said, 'I have woven it with my hands for you to wear.' The Prophet took it as he was in need of it, and came to us wearing it as a waist sheet. One of us said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Give it to me to wear.' The Prophet agreed to give it to him. The Prophet sat with the people for a while and then returned (home), wrapped that waist sheet and sent it to him. The people said to that man, 'You haven't done well by asking him for it when you know that he never turns down anybody's request.' The man replied, 'By Allah, I have not asked him for it except to use it as my shroud when I die." Sahl added; "Later it (i.e. that sheet) was his shroud."

The Prophet sent me to some people in Yemen and when I returned, I found him at Al-Batha. He asked me, "With what intention have you assumed Ihram (i.e. for Hajj or for Umra or for both?") I replied, "I have assumed Ihram with an intention like that of the Prophet." He asked, "Have you a Hadi with you?" I replied in the negative. He ordered me to perform Tawaf round the Ka'ba and between Safa and Marwa and then to finish my Ihram. I did so and went to a woman from my tribe who combed my hair or washed my head. Then, when Umar came (i.e. became Caliph) he said, "If we follow Allah's Book, it orders us to complete Hajj and Umra; as Allah says: "Perform the Hajj and Umra for Allah." (2.196). And if we follow the tradition of the Prophet who did not finish his Ihram till he sacrificed his Hadi."

Musa bin Uqba said, Nafi said: Ibn Umar said, "Allah's Apostle (SAW) arranged a horse race amongst the horses that had been made lean, letting them start from Al-Hafya and their limit (distance of running) was up to Thaniyat-al-Wada. I asked Musa, 'What was the distance between the two places?' Musa replied, 'Six or seven miles. He arranged a race of the horses which had not been made lean sending them from Thaniyat-al-Wada, and their limit was up to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq.' I asked, 'What was the distance between those two places?' He replied 'One mile or so.' Ibn Umar was amongst those who participated in that horse race."

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) one day took a nap among us and woke up laughing. We asked him: O Messenger (PBUH) of Allah, why did you smile. The Prophet (SAW) said: A Surah was revealed to me before. Then he read out:"In the Name of Allah, the Most
Beneficent, the Most Merciful", "Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad (SAW)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise). Therefore, turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). For, he who makes you angry (O Muhammad (SAW)) will be cut
off" (Sweat Al-Kauthar) Then the Prophet (SAW) asked: Do you know what Al-Kauthar
is? The narrator said we said: Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) know best. Then the Prophet (SAW) said: It is a river in Paradise Allah pledged to give me. It is full of
every thing good and my Ummah will aim at it on the Day of Resurrection. Its cups are as many as stars. Some of my followers will be prevented from it and I will ask O my Lord they are my followers. Allah will say: You (O Muhammad (SAW)) do not know how they took to heterodoxy after you).
(This Hadith is sound and reported by Muslim, Abu Daud and Nasai).

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Rafi ibn Khadij married the daughter of Muhammad ibn Maslama al-Ansari. She was with him until she grew older, and then he married a young girl and preferred the young girl to her. She begged him to divorce her, so he divorced her and then he gave her time until she had almost finished her idda period and then he returned and still preferred the young girl. She therefore asked him to divorce her. He divorced her once, and then returned to her, and still preferred the young girl, and she asked him to divorce her. He said, "What do you want? There is only one divorce left. If you like, continue and put up with what you see of preference, and if you like, I will separate from you." She said, "I will continue in spite of the preference." He kept her in spite of that. Rafi did not see that he had done any wrong action when she remained with him in spite of preference.

From: Sahih Bukhari. Chapter 45, Oppressions (Al-Mazalim)
Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "There was an Israeli man called Juraij, while he was praying, his mother came and called him, but he did not respond to her call. He said (to himself) whether he should continue the prayer or reply to his mother. She came to him the second time and called him and said, "O Allah! Do not let him die until he sees the faces of prostitutes." Juraij used to live in a hermitage. A woman said that she would entice Juraij, so she went to him and presented herself (for an evil act) but he refused. She then went to a shepherd and allowed him to commit an illegal sexual intercourse with her and later she gave birth to a boy. She alleged that the baby was from Juraij. The people went to Juraij and broke down his hermitage, pulled him out of it and abused him. He performed ablution and offered the prayer, then he went to the male (baby) and asked him; "O boy! Who is your father?" The baby replied that his father was the shepherd. The people said that they would build for him a hermitage of gold but Juraij asked them to make it of mud only."
