Malik related to me from Amr ibn Yahya al-Mazini from his father that ad-Dahhak ibn Khalifa watered his irrigation ditch from a large source of water. He wanted to have it pass through the land of Muhammad ibn Maslama, and Muhammad refused. Ad-Dahhak said to him, "Why do you prevent me? It will benefit you. You can drink from it first and last and it will not harm you." Muhammed refused so ad-Dahhak spoke about it to Umar ibn al-Khattab, and Umar ibn al-Khattab summoned Muhammad ibn Maslama and ordered him to clear the way. Muhammad said, "No." Umar said, "Why do you prevent your brother from what will benefit him and is also useful for you? You will take water from it first and last and it will not harm you." Muhammad said, "No, by Allah!" Umar said, "By Allah, he will pass it through, even if it is over your belly!" Umar ordered him to allow its passage and ad-Dahhak did so.

Ubada said that Abu Muhammad had lied and that he had heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Allah the Majestic and Mighty has written five prayers for mankind, and whoever does them and does not waste anything of them by making light of what is due to them, there is a pact for him with Allah that He will admit him into the Garden.Whoever does not do them, there is no pact for him with Allah. If He wishes, He punishes him, and if He wishes, He admits him into the Garden.' "

Narrated/Authority of

Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad continued, "When Abu Bakr gave men their allowances he would ask them, 'Do you have any property on which zakat is due?' Narrated/Authority of Anas
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) one day took a nap among us and woke up laughing. We asked him: O Messenger (PBUH) of Allah, why did you smile. The Prophet (SAW) said: A Surah was revealed to me before. Then he read out:"In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful", "Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad (SAW)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise). Therefore, turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). For, he who makes you angry (O Muhammad (SAW)) will be cut off" (Sweat Al-Kauthar) Then the Prophet (SAW) asked: Do you know what Al-Kauthar is? The narrator said we said: Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) know best. Then the Prophet (SAW) said: It is a river in Paradise Allah pledged to give me. It is full of every thing good and my Ummah will aim at it on the Day of Resurrection. Its cups are as many as stars. Some of my followers will be prevented from it and I will ask O my Lord they are my followers. Allah will say: You (O Muhammad (SAW)) do not know how they took to heterodoxy after you). (This Hadith is sound and reported by Muslim, Abu Daud and Nasai).
