We set out with Allah's Apostle on one of his journeys on a very hot day, and it was so hot that one had to put his hand over his head because of the severity of heat. None of us was fasting except the Prophet and Ibn Rawaha.
I asked Jabir "Did the Prophet forbid fasting on Fridays?" He replied, "Yes." (Other narrators added, "If he intends to fast only that day.")
The Prophet purchased food grains from a Jew on credit and mortgaged his iron armor to him.

Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "Who would kill Kab bin Al-Ashraf as he has harmed Allah and His Apostle (SAW) ?" Muhammad bin Maslama (got up and) said, "I will kill him." So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to Kab and said, "I want a loan of one or two Wasqs of food grains." Kab said, "Mortgage your women to me." Muhammad bin Maslama said, "How can we mortgage our women, and you are the most handsome among the Arabs?" He said, "Then mortgage your sons to me." Muhammad said, "How can we mortgage our sons, as the people will abuse them for being mortgaged for one or two Wasqs of food grains? It is shameful for us. But we will mortgage our arms to you." So, Muhammad bin Maslama promised him that he would come to him next time. They (Muhammad bin Maslama and his companions) came to him as promised and murdered him. Then they went to the Prophet (SAW) and told him about it.
Al Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib asked the permission of Allahs Apostle to let him stay in Mecca during the nights of Mina in order to provide the pilgrims with water to drink, so the Prophet permitted him.

"Once Allah's Apostle came to me," and then he narrated the whole narration, i.e. your guest has a right on you, and your wife has a right on you. I then asked about the fasting of David. The Prophet replied, "Half of the year," (i.e. he used to fast on every alternate day).
The Prophet used to kiss and embrace (his wives) while he was fasting, and he had more power to control his desires than any of you. Jabir ibn Zayd said, "The person who gets discharge after casting a look (on his wife) should complete his fast."
