Narrated/Authority of Abdul Muhaimin bin Abbas bin Sahl bin Sad As-Saidi
from his father, from his grandfather: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) wiped over his leather socks and he ordered us to wipe over the leather socks." (Daif)

The Messenger of Allah (saw) gestured with his hand like this, from the tips of the toes to the base of the shin, tracing lines with his fingers." (Daif)

"I asked Aishah about wiping over the leather socks and she said: 'Go to Ali and ask him, for he knows more about that than I do.' So I went to Ali and asked him about wiping. He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to tell us that the resident could wipe for one day and one night, and the traveller could do so for three days.'" (Sahih)
