Hadith No: 110
Narrated/Authority of Ubai bin Kab
From: 110 Hadith Qudsi. Chapter 1, 110 Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Hadith)
During the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (PBUH), two men attributed their family lineage. One of them said: I am such and such son of such and such but who are you? You have no mother. Allah's Messenger (PBUH) added: In the lifetime of Musa (Moses[PBUH]), two men attributed their lineage. One of them said: I am such and such son of such and such till he counted nine. So who are you? You have no mother. The second said: I am such and such son of such and such son of Islam. The Prophet (SAW) said: Allah revealed to Musa (PBUH) to address these attributers: As for you who attributed yourself to nine, they are all in Hell and you are the tenth. As for you who attributed yourself to two (and Islam), they are in Paradise and you are the third. (This Hadith is reported in Musnad Ahmad and its chain of authorities is sound.)

Hadith No: 577
Narrated/Authority of Yazid ibn Amir
From: Sunan Abu Dawood. Chapter 2, Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)
I came while the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) was saying the prayer. I sat down and did not pray along with them. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) turned towards us and saw that Yazid was sitting there. He said: Did you not embrace Islam, Yazid? He replied: Why not, Apostle of Allah; I have embraced Islam. He said: What prevented you from saying prayer along with the people? He replied: I have already prayed in my house, and I thought that you had prayed (in congregation). He said: When you come to pray (in the mosque) and find the people praying, then you should pray along with them, though you have already prayed. This will be a supererogatory prayer for you and that will be counted as obligatory.
